    BF2 Is Having Problems Staying Connected!

    BF2 (and for that matter BF2142 DEMO) is having quite a few problems whenever I go onto a server... :hmm: It has a connection problem almost every round!

    I signed up for a new isp recently...and recieved a new router as well...could this problem have something to do with the fact that a 12yr old (namely me at the time...13 this year) set it up? Any firewall ports I have to open up with it? Help appreciated!

      Is it a wireless connection KC - 10? And whats your ping before u get kicked?

      Updated PB files manually?

          I never actually had this problem with my old ISP...I doubt its the new one though because it provides me with 800kbps d/l speed from the US and I'm in Australia...provided I play on Internode or Gamearena, my ping varies from 34 to 76 depending on where its situated. It WAS a wireless connection but someone came over to our house and hardwired it...and finally, no I haven't updated PB manually. Anyone else think its my new router?

                  I don't know...I had an old router for ADSL and got a new router for ADSL II. These two routers are identical. I just wired up everything as it was in the old router...then I ran the setup program...for now it seems to have subsided...but it does still happen...

                      I had connection probelms almost every round for a couple of days for no apparent reason. I'm also behind a router and I don't have ports opened. A friend of mine had these connection problems appear and disappear for no reason.

                          I get these every now and again. at the worst, i got them for the first 3 servers i joined then i could successfully join the 4th server.
                          Then i didnt get one for a few months, and then one day i CTD and the pattern of three has been back since around the new year.
                          I blame it on my wireless net connection to be honest.
                          however a way to sort this from experience is to do a complete reinstall!, clear all profiles, SS etc, then it was stable for a month or two.
