Why wont my rank stay private, it always goes back to recruit.

1) a lot of PR servers run ABR (Alternative Battle Ranking)
2) There appears to be some problems with it right now on a lot of servers meaning lost points and ranks/medals/ribbons

I just played a round on a server where I got Private rank, Engineer Explosives medal, SF medal, meritonious unit ribbon, but then that was all reset for me so i could earn them again!

Ahhh 2 minutes ago I was showing my sis how to play...I pressed singleplayer gulf of oman WAC and when it said loading complete verifying client data at crashed to desktop...this is the first time my PC crashed...obviusly its not noraml but has any1 else had this problem?!

Nothing else has a problem its just singleplayer maps....Internet is fine and internet Gulf Of Oman is fine also!

PR uses ABR, or Alternate Battlefield Ranking. It is a ranking system completely seperate of EA's official system, meaning you won't gain points towards your offical score when playing on PR servers.

You can rank up and earn points seperately in PR. Download the ABR client - http://www.battlefieldranking.net/re...ABR_Files.html - to make sure you can gain ranks and medals properly.

ABR only counts towards servers which actually run it.

oops, forgot the "servers which actually run it" bit :)

I was playing on a server without ABR yesterday and managed to get my Private rank, SF explosives medal, Engineers explosives medal and a Meritorious Merit award all in one round. It cheered my evening up no end !!

I've been wondering, is there a way I can fix my "Problem with writing file for rewrite!" -> "Exiting due to fatal Error!" problem? I looked up on their FAQ's and forums, but maybe I'm just blind (or dumb).

Everyone has that problem in single player. Single player PR = phayl.
