Patch 1.41 Black Screen then Desktop

ok, so heres the problem. i have played bf2 for a while now and then i wanted to patch it. so i did, i patched it with the latest, 1.41. it patched and when i wanted to load it up again, it starts up with a black screen and then goes back to the desktop. im pretty sure its not my firewall b/c for an experiment, i turned off the firewall and tried to open it but the same thing happened. what could be wrong???

on your desktop, right click on your BF2 icon and select properties.
Change the target: "blah blah +fullscreen 1" to +fullscreen 0

now you will be able to see the error message it will generate on CTD.
