The next patch!

I can't help but wonder if there is ever going to be another patch for BF2? If so, will EA/DICE ever listen to the majority of the players or just keep nerfing weapons to suit the new to BF series players?

If the latter is to be the case, I wish they would come out with a true WAR IS HELL type game for the experianced FPS gamers.

However, I did like the beta testing thing that was done for 1.4. If only they fixed the bugs mentioned in the beta testing...

I wish they would tell all server admins to reconfigure their servers back to how things were when BF2 first came out.

Than, come out with a patch that only addressed "BUG FIXES"!

I still see little hints and rumors out there about a possible patch on the horizon. Don't ask for links, but I have followed links to other sites making suggestions there is something in the works.

I think someone would have detected a different server version number out there if there was something being tested.

With the release of the BF2 collection DVD, I am hoping there will be a patch to unify all the games into one package. So no more two different servers. One Patch to rule them all!

There is some kind of "news" about the future of BF2. An EA Forum moderator made a post last week about it, but said he wasn't authorized to say what the news was or when it will be out. The original thread has since been locked (because the moderator in question was getting a lot of grief from people who are pissed at EA and decided to take it out on him), but I can tell you from what posts I saw that the news does not include an end to the ranking system (this was the most common speculation, but the moderator in question confirmed that this was not it). He did say that some of the guessing in the thread had been on the mark, but wouldn't say which guesses in particular, so it could be a patch, or it could be something else (though I have no idea what if it's not a patch). We'll just have to wait and see.

There was a sticky post about it in this forum, but it's been removed now unfortunately.

Edit: I wish they would remove the dumb rank system. Mods would work, stat whores can leave, and best yet, server side mods FTW!!!!
