    Joysticks... what should i get?

Well i like flying... but i suck most of the time because i have no control over what i'm doing with a mouse and keyboard... so this is where a joystick comes in... anyone got any reccomendations?

Bit of a criteria: Not too stiff, not too sloppy in movement, under £80 and must be buy-able in UK :)

Thx in advance... i'll check back at this topic in a few hours to see if i got any replies

(P.S Links to the joysticks would be helpful )

An e-penis extension? Meh. Sure joysticks are alright, but have you even tried getting used to mouse and keyboard?

I think everyone will recommend the Saitek X52...

      You kidding?

A joystick pilot that knows what he's doing will own a KB/M player every time.

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Search for Joystick, or more relevant Logitech lol. (that's becuz logitech always wins in those threads, obviously every thread about joystick will include "Logitech" in it)

Re: Joysticks... what should i get?

I searched "Joystick" in the search bit... about 100 posts all about jets and helos and asking people if they used mouse and keyboard or a joystick... personally i didn't notice any relavent topics...

For the nice, normal people out there.. thanks for the links and i'm surely going to get one soon... yet to decide which one though.. i heared sagitek was good though... but logitech i know better blahblahblah anways ty :)

Thanks even further to AckAck for giving links :)

The reason i don't like m/kb setup is because A. it's not sensitive enough for me... B. if i drag it across the screen i end up crashing anyway, Joystick gives you more control and less bother in firing your arms :)

Ooook.... just looked at prices.... sure the Saitek looks tasty... but at around 2-3 times the price of the logitech one... i think i'll pass... gonna go order a logitech today/tomorrow :)

Did you customise some industrial piece or did you make it from the scratch? I have been thinking to do the same but I must conquer my laziness first.

Just curious, did you use potentiometers for axis positioning or did you use some neater components, encoders, hall sensors maybe??

How about mechanical parts. Custom made or customised? Could you send a picture of your stick, I'm really curious to see it?

The mouse for choppers... hmm.... it is slightly better for evasive manouevers but i prefer choppers and i want a joystick... cos there is a new bfroe crime out!!

NEW CRIME: CONSPIRACY TO ENTERING AIRCRAFT; PUNISHMENT: TEAMKILLED.

(Was a joke btw.... for the serious people out there >.<)

If i were a great pilot like alot of other players in this game, i'd pwn. Im good at piloting, but i can never learn to drop a bomb earlier.

Anyway, i have a Saitek Cyborg EVO. It has 6 buttons on the base (3 on each side, it has a up down throttle, a comfortable palm base, an all-way turn axis to turn your rudder, an obvious all-way turning to obviously turn, a trigger, and ...yeah just google for an image. Bottom line its an AWESOME joystick. $70.00 Canadian.

I have it to, works great for me, sometimes I get a little carried away and pull hard to either side and it flips over, only complaint about it:laugh: Plus it is only like $30.

HAHAHAHA! I dont know how you could possibly flip it over. It has a pretty stable base.

Man, your probably like the angry gamer kid, just instead of angry, more...anxiety.

No, not angry, I just get so into it, you know how it is, you are in a good dogfight following someone and you just want to make that jet turn faster, my way is, pull that thing down as hard as I can
