locked out of game after giving mate special forces

Folks,
I gave a friend of mine my copy of bf2:sf as I never used it.
I uninstalled etc. Now we are both locked out. Did not know that that was the way it worked. Do I have to create a new account or is the game borked for good?

Has he uninstalled SF yet? If not, have him try that.
