We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.

I get about 35-40 frames per second average, which is fairly low. All my settings are on medium, and the framerate doesn't seem to change when I change thee settings to high. I think I got better framerate when I played BF2142 with the settings on high...here are my system specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1GB Corsair RAM
ATi Radeon x1650Pro
It could be a number of things! For instance have you tried & tested different drivers? What power supply are u running on? Have you shut off unneccesary programs working in the background on windows, for instance msn messenger & anti virus scanners.
your fps seem right....dont expect high with that card and only 1gb of ram. I've benchmarked fps on an x1800xt, x2 3800 @ 2.5ghz, and 1gb of g.skill ddr500
all medium no AA averaged 54fps- 49 was lowest- 79 was highest.
all high no AA averaged 44fps- 38 lowest -75 highest
benchmarked using fraps. 3 tests at hotel flag in karkand 32 players at the start of the round during the initial heavy firefight. i.e. tanks, apc, grenades, mass grouping of players.
ive got another sata2 hardrive and 2gb of mushkin redline ddr500 otw if i dont get to caught up in bf2 ill re-benchmark on 2gb.
you tv. runs 30 fps and looks good,30+ on a game is excellent,you shouldnt need more than that except for bragging rights.Trying to get 40+ is fine but you envoke the law of diminishing return since a fps of 40 is almost indistiguishable from 60.
In BF2 framerate depends greatly on number of players on the server. 30fps seems normal with more than 40 players maybe. I don't have personal experience, but amount of RAM has great effect as mentioned before. But in the meantime, try smaller maps because they're better.
Also things like ping have some effect on framerates so it's impossible to say if its normal or not. But try a 16p map offline and tell if FPS is better.
And you above me, for some people 20 is enough, for some people 75 is not enough because they need a monitor capable of 100hz at least. I do see a difference between 50 and 90, in BF2 and never could play with any lower than 50.
