I play the beta and absolutely love it. I was pretty hyped up for this game, calling it the ultimate RTS.
Well, they did it. Once this game comes out the RTS genre is dead, aside from minor improvements in AI there is nothing that can be done better.
The scale is massive, and it fixes the fundamental problem that I've always had with strategy games, there is no real strategy in an RTS. It is all either tactical micro-managing or resource micro-management. In this it is all on a massive strategic scale. Battles usually involve so many units fighting at once that it is impossible to micromanage battles, and that is how it should be. Generals are not worried about the exact positions of units in combat, they command the battlefield, not the precise position and angle of a tank.

I downloaded the demo last night, but haven't had a chance to put any time into it. I'll probably put some substances in my system later and sit down with this one.
The demo is actually quite long. It has two missions of the Cybran campaign, both of which can take upwards of an hour or so each. There is also a skirmish where you can play as Cybran.
Having played the beta I already knew the game was a great as I hyped it up to be, and the singleplayer is just as good.
From first impressions the AI seems really defensive and doesnt build many offensive troops

To be fair I only played the AI once and it was on easy, so of course it was too easy. Perhaps being in the beta and playing multiplayer exclusive has given me a different view. Or maybe they get more difficult on the higher difficulty levels.
