most $500 pc will run bf2 on minimum if you get a new graphix card for it i think that one is ok though
I dont think pD's are all that great so try to look for one with an athlon(sp?) or a P4 cpu

hmmmmm i'm not sure but i'm guessing
    $200-processor
    $100-motherboard
    $100-graphix card
    $100-harddrive
    $100-ram
    $70-case
most other stuff you can pull of your old computer if you dont mind using old stuff

U dont want to buy a pre-built one, do it yourslef or pay someone to do it for u. Will work out cheaper & will get u what u want.

If u can't get what i said above done, this pc looks ok. Just needs a decent PCI-E Gfx card & your sorted.

no it wouldnt work as it has no vid card and find something with the core 2 duos pent D's are old technology.

Yeah, I got my system dirt cheap and it runs very nicely

                Something like:

E6300 or E6600 if you can scrounge it up
El Cheapo Motherboard (My AsRock Conroe945g is pretty decent and was only £45, slightly limited overclocking but it's "modern", shall I say, no RAID though).
$180 GFX card, something like a 7800GTX or 7900, I regret cheaping it out
Cheap *** hard disk, the differences in performance aren't really noticeable. PATA holds its own to this day. You need at least 60GB nowadays, good thing it's been hanging at that level for the last 5 years.
RAM, well you want 2GB at least. That'll set you back £100, somewhere around $140.
Case - It's a f*cking case. I could run my PC in a perforated cardboard box.
PSU - You need to get a good one of these, or have fun with your $500 paperweight. Brand matters. At least $50 should do it.
CPU Fan/Heatsink - Cheap, and the stock one is about as easy to set up properly as Slackware linux. Hehe. Tuniq Tower, I hear is good.

That should come round somewhere like $600.

actually if you get a good case then it will come with decent power supply and fans

Doesn't this system have on-board video? If so, you will want to buy a good VC and have them install it for you.

The rest of the system looks ok!

Can BestBuy insert an off-board graphics card for me?

and is it pent D>pent 4 or pent 4>pent D?

                      *god im a computer noob

Re: n00b question but need help...

There's a reason it's an "on board" graphics card. Don't touch Best Buy with a USB powered 10ft barge pole.

                        Pentium D > Pentium 4, however, Core 2 Duo > ALL.
