You know thar weird feeling you get...

when you just know something is about to happen and you get ready and BAM arty strike or crack j10 whore, claymore or something.

for me it was today, this is an example of what happens when those rare 6 man 100% teamwork squads that roam in packs capping flags from eac side collide, its rare enough for a 6 man squad to be total team work...but on both sides..and just happend 2 collide.

well anyway i had just capped the suburbs with my squad and i got that feeling, a moment later the commander started spotting infnatry like crazy coming from the west, they had just taken back the train accident, my squad lead put down the one claymore he had on the road and we got ready to defend, it was CRAZY their squad lead had camped a little bit back so they could keep spawning an sustain the attack, i died a few times and in that fight i had played the roles of medic, support, sniper and assault.

mostly support it was classic on the rooftop with my mg36 lettin the lead fly like some old ww2 movie.

    ...well...yeah

If your geting that feeling and reacting, then your a Jedi.

Only works some of the time for me, depending on if I'm 'in the zone' But can be very effective in knowing when to run from arty, tanks and big fu@k off bombs.

And no, Im not listening to my soundcard (but thats a useful tip too)

What you describe is called, "Situational Awareness."

Learn it well, and you will excell at this game.

Not if your can't see it. Of couse you must take into account that if you just capped a flag, then you should expect something to come your way. Their is common sense and their is 'Jedi skills' they are different.

Know yourself. Know your enemy. Know what flag you took. Know it's importance to the greater picture.

Does the flag contain vehicles? Is there a battle at a nearby flag? Is it the closest flag in a conga line of flag cappings? If yes to any of the aforementioned questions, it's almost guaranteed that this flag will see action within the next minute.

Situational Awareness expands beyond simply accepting what you see. It reaches into the depths of what you call, "Jedi Skills." It's as simple as knowing the future, by knowing what your enemy will do before they even begin doing it.

I call it foresight. It's just another form of Situational Awareness.

Eddy has just recently begun to cross into this territory. Welcome to the winning team Eddy.

"Situational Awareness" or just knowing how to "Be in the right place at the right time" - either/or, learn that skill, and you will be a better player. As an example, I had an old clan leader that was just awesome at this. He made a excellent Commander. On the ground, I once watched him get over 100 points, ALL on knife kills. He never fired a weapon the whole round. He just moved around, anticipated where an enemy would be, knew the best angle of attack, and was able to sneak-up for knife kills. He did it the whole round, just to see if he could, and only died twice. Try it ...test your skill.

A great skill to master, wish I could. I'm working on it though...working on it.

Dairuka, even thou I do agree with your outlook, 'Jedi Skills' are beyond what you are saying. Its 'knowing' about something (with or) without the knowledge of anything else.

Now, lets say you have a full 64 player server. Your team own 4 flags. Two of them are full of troops, a third that you just spawn in, with only 2 other people in your squad. You get arty within 10 seconds of spawning there.
Their would be no reason why the enemy commander would arty a flag, when there are 20 people running around at others.

Im an avid 21CW player, I know full well about Situational Awareness. Jedi Skills is something different.

And yes, its kinda like ESP.

Re: You know thar weird feeling you get...

If there is a plane constantly attacking one point, it takes about 20 seconds for him to hit, turn around, and come back.

If you just turn a flag to neutral, and know the commander JUST used up their arty, you're fine. If you're capping a flag and it's dead silent, it usually means the other team is waiting for their arty to fall on your heads. I usually turn it neutral, run outside the point, wait a few seconds, and run back in.

On certain maps, you can expect certain things to happen at certain times. And yes, this is situational awareness.

If you're standing out in the middle of nowhere sniping, and you think to yourself, I smell arty, move, and then arty falls on where you were...kudos to you you lucky bast@rd.

ha i laughed so hard i got lolz all over my keyboard, gotta clean it up...

well thx 4 ur jedi tipz yall but speaking of SITATIONAL AWARENESS how ocme in the even that one side blows a bridge rarely will i see someone on the offesive side spawn enginner and repair the thing, instead they will spawn sniper or some other combat class and simply shoot shoot shoot but still stay on that side and thereby giving the defending side exactly what they want.

btw speaking of bridges on daqing i like hopping in the f-15 then flying the chinese side of map and right and bombing the bridges, all the armor whores hate it and for the first part of the game they cant get to the flags on left side via vehicles, thsis usually changes course of the whole game.
then ill start a squad and ask the commander to put orders on the arty so i wont have to fly soo low to get it i mena i can see u av and scan easy but arty always seems harder to spot, and then heel often enough put orders on all sorts of things u guys know how when you are caping a flag behind enemy line swith no hostile in sight the comamnder willa rty you, well basically he used me as a substitute and had me bombing flags that where being capped, if i didnt kill them hed tell me to relaod and come around again, so fun i got so many points between bombing assets that where repairs, infantry concentrations armor...o man we dominated that game.

                          Bravo,
This is one of those skills that everyone needs and not many people have learned. I think that in sports they call it being in the zone. What ever it is called one things for sure you arent ever going to get this skill if you use those cheats and depend on them to play BF2. Lets see someone code that into a cheat, HA!
Anyway, congrats on moveing up to the highest level of awareness. The trick here is to increase it (it can be done). On the highest levels everyone else almost seems to be stuck in slow motion (I been there a time or two). Good Luck, oh Master Player (trainee) (J/K). . . . . . . . . Red

*EDIT* BTW, I had an English teacher, who would look through every newspaper every day, looking for typos, and bad sentences. She would completely flip when she found one, so I am thinking of sending her one of your posts, just to see if her head explodes!
