People just hate IO karkand because thats where the best infantry play, but people cry because it hurts their precious stats.... (stats, the thing that killed the BF series)

I play kark io everyday, I spawn camp, base rape, claymore spam, nade spam, c4 jump and anything else I can think of tto make the game less enjoyable for the other team.

I have NEVER, EVER, SEEN AN EXTREMELY HIGH RANK (1-STAR GENERAL+) IMPRESS ME WITH HIS/HER SKILL. THEY ALL GRENADE SPAM, SPAWN CAMP, CLAYMORE SPAM AND DO ANYTHING IT TAKES TO GET POINTS.

Anyway, there are so many maps that are so much better than Karkand...

Even on IO...

Like Sharqi, or Mashtuur... and I personally like any PLA map, but noobs don't play them because they can't point-whore like they can on Grenadeland. I mean, Karkand.

:edit: IO Karkand is not as bad as IO Jalalabad though. That's not saying much.

you are right, im just generalisiing, but i bet most people who are high ranks used cheap, legal, ways of getting there. Ive played with patriots, and hes the best damn pilot ive seen. I was in a hornet in daqing whilst he was flying the su-30 and i could not shoot him down no matter how hard i tried. Then i go after the j-10 and i down it like its a 747.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm really nothing special, I just try to be aware of my suroundings. As far as the rank thing, I really never try to flaunt my rank because after all it's not the rank that determines how good the player is.

I'll tell you my story about Karkand.

Once upon a time, before auto team switch was common, I was a lowly grunt and not yet a fighter ace, I joined a Karkand 24/7 server.

I was USMC and faced off against a MEC team which contained at least five players from the same clan. They used their tank to great effect, their commander was spot on with supplies and spotted me going for their base. The tank was always backed up with an Engineer or Medic to pick off any spec forces.

Over three rounds that I played I think the tank driver went
40-2
38-3
55-3

I tried everything, Anti Tank, spec forces, Jihad jeep, going for their base, I just couldn't take this guy out, although I managed to get him a couple of times with a Jihad Jeep.

So I thought, heck it would be great if they removed tanks from this game.

Prior to leaving I happened to look at the rest of my team, despite most players being battered for best part of an hour, how many were Anti Tank or Spec Forces?

So I can only conclude that there have always been a lot of players that actually were only ever interested in being medics and not actually interested in playing BF2 'properly'.

I suppose it's better as they can all be playing what they want and don't annoy the heck out of me.

What they actually see in IO though, I have no idea, tried it a few times, no tactical maps to cap, little options on class, and endless spamming of grenades.

Still good for points though, but I can't believe that people play just for points.

My fave server atm is a karkand ff off server.... but personally i like to snipe and get a decent squad to help me take over the far away MEC bases when i'm playing USMC.

Yes, it would be nice to see more city map rotation servers. Perhaps even a mix of IO and standard, to spice things up a bit.

Players who like BF2 for ALL of its variety will play the other maps and hate Karkand. One dimensional ground whores play Karkand and one dimensional air whores (like chopper gunner whores) play Wake. All other players who are not whores, will start with Karkand and move on to better things once they learn how to play.
