Hi,Just started playing BF2 And find that i get kicked out of some games because my ping is to high or to low,1st what does ping mean and how can i find out what my ping is.Any advice would be very helpfull.Also how do i type a message while playing the game.Thank you.

Ping is basically the time it takes for your computer to communicate with the server.
THe lower, the better.
Ideally, under 150.
The ping is listed in the server browser, and also on the ingame scoreboard.
Do you have the latest patch? -

ya you need a new patch and whatyou need to do is press the alt, control, delete thing and delete a few things that take up alot o memory (exept the bf2 and the~e501 thing) and you should be good to go.Originally posted by budgie

what part of the country do you live in
and you can do some basic testing for ping from the DOS box
hmmm
how did you DL the game? did you pay for it? or DL a demo version?
there are 1000's of servers if you get it setup right

Hi.Well im a aussie,And just found out that i have 39 servers.I downloaded the game from a pc games disc and its only the demo version.Im still having alot of fun but getting sick of being kick from some of these servers.I see the lattest patch is 536mb will it help any if i download that patch.Thanks again for all the replys guys.Been very helpfull.Comment

No sorry,Thought my brother downloaded it from gamespy but had found out it was downloaded from my pc disc.Will i still need to download the 1.41 patch had ifso what differance would it make.Comment

If you do have the demo, don't bother downloading the patch. The patch is only necessary for the full version.
I would imagine the reason you keep getting kicked is because there are no servers in close proximity to you, thus, your ping is high.
I would imagine that not many people are playing the demo anymore anyway.Comment
