i have a dell e196fp 17" monitor, and now everytime i turn it off and on it says "auto adjustment in progress" and the screen flickers around for about a second. After that everything is perfectly normal. It also happens when i minimize battlefield 2 and it is extremely annoying. it even happens multiple times during startup. Anyone know a fix for this? This didnt happen for 5 months before today..

This is because your default resolution is changing to your bf2 resolution if you set them to the same it wont say that. -

not true. I had them different for 2 months now and this never appeared. Ive set them the same now, and it still does it. I was trying to overclock earlier today, and since i dont have any experience doing it, i set the settings back to default and left it at that. Then i hop on bf2, and type in the console command renderer.drawfps 1 because i always play with the fps counter on. But the text of that all seems messed up, and it was hard to read. Than this Adjustment in progress issue came up. So i try to reinstall nvidia drivers, and it didnt help at all. Now im clueless!
edit: solution found: replug plugs into monitor. you could call me a jackassComment

No, Profiles are not easy and missing one doesn't make you anything other than a victim of dell's idiocy.
If you truely are a jackass, it has to be for different reasons. I actually just got my expert badge in jackass last night on Taraba Quarry
