Extra Points for Badges 'n Ribbons?

Hey all,
Do you get extra points for badges and ribbons? This post made me curious, but I've never seen any documentation... Maybe it's referring to the xbox version?

Also, somewhere I read that there's a special rank that you can't pass through if you don't have the proper badges and ribbons at that point. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

No, no extra points.

The ranks you are refering to are 1st sgt. and the one above, cannot think of the name. Check out www.bf2s.com for the info on what you need to get the certain ranks.

There's nothing special about any rank.

It doesn't matter if you are 1st Sgt. or Master Sgt. at 20,000 points, and it doesn't matter if you are Master Gunnery Sgt. or Sgt. Major at 50,000 points. No one cares. The only time it would matter is when applying for commander.
