Is this 7600gt good enough to run bf2 on all high at 1280x1024 res? It's not overclocked sadly.

Yep, it is enough to run all high, 1280x1024, 2xAA. it would be better frame rates with 1 of the dynamics on medium.
The best card to suit your performance needs would be the 7900GS or the X1950 pro. But imo it would be worth it to kepp the 7600GT and wait untill the 8600 ultra comes out to upgrade again. -

I run it at that resolution on my computer with the exact card. I average around 65-80fps in Vanilla and 55-70 in SF. It's decent.

That is on high, same resolution, 2xAA and all the texture filters on high. With 4xAA the fps drops around 5fps but I don't notice it. No lag though.Comment

and the 7600gt is a pretty fast card. how much are u planning on spending for the video card? if u r willing to dish in a few more bucks,the 7900gs looks pretty cheapComment

Well I chose to get the 7600gt because it uses less power than the 7900gs. My psu isn't very powerful. It's a 305watt dell psu, but it has 18a on the 12v rail.Comment

The dell PSU actually give out more wattage than written on the label, so that will be good for the 7600GT.
You are in the exact same position i was in a few months ago. I had the money for a 7900GS, but i would have to buy a new psu with it. So i just went with the 7600GT.Comment

it runs all high excellant, plus in the nvidea control panel, you can o/c yourself if you wantComment
