Yes, but what's the alternative? No recoil? Guns that fire completely accurately all the time? This isnt some technological future world, this is 2007 (if i remember right). Lets face it, luck still plays a part in any battle, even today.

Back? I thought it never went since it first emerged roughly in 1995 when DOOM got popular?

I was not referring to the entire gaming world since 1995, I was merely talking about BF2.

Plenty of games utilize the first shot(s) accuracy, with exponentially growing recoil and random cone of fire effect. Basically, if youre prone, not moving, and have the enemy in sights, WHY shouldnt you hit them? Especially when it takes a certain ammount of rounds from different weapons to kill that person?

The one who makes the first kill-shot, should win. Not the one who makes the first lucky kill-shot.

Luck should never be a safety net for newbies.

The only problem with bunnyhopping was wrong weapon use in wrong situations. You could have made a ton of small and SMART and THOUGHT THROUGH adjustments to fix the game, permanently, rather than taking out the axe and starting to castrate the game. For gods sake, its like calling a A-10 with a napalm strike to get rid of weed growing in your rose garden.

I don`t know about you, but as far as I know, in real life, guns shoot where they are aimed at= pretty f*cking accurate.

I mean, US forces in Iraq are pretty f*cked if guns have COF- bullets fly randomly.

But I agree that the guy who gets off the first aimed shot should win. Sadly, this isn`t how BF2 works.

the noob-friendlyness of this game makes me sick, people should get rewarded for having good aim, not punished.

              bring back jumping while shooting!

This is BF2, MADE to be ARCADY, and this made the game fun, and again, it does more harm then good :/

Have you even seen a guy on a small roof, and can shoot him when you jump, but since 1.2, you can't? yes, this happens to me every day, and it anoys me, and probably everyone.

              L1ek OMG wh4t b0ut bunn3ys!!1!1!

Gun isn't accurate while jumping, deal with it.

              dolphin/prone spamming?

Make it so animations can't colide into each other. For example, if I hit prone, I cannot stand up till my body is prone (in 3rd person). As for prone spamming behind objects, speed up the 3rd person animation, and slow down the 1st person view of it, making them match, so this is not possible to stand up, seeing your enemy before they see you.

              Granades

Reduce them two 2 nades per kit. This will eliminate granade spam.

              Ranked servers(ewwwww.... stats)

make FF mines and FF claymores two different server options. Make it so FF clays MUST HAVE FF on.

Also, make it so unlocks CAN be restricted. Its sad that a guy gets a weapon(s) for paying $30 >_>

              Obvius fixes

MAKE SOUND MATCH ROF ON GUNS!!!
              RED TAG GLITCH!!!
              AT ROCKETS GOING THROUGH VEHICLES!!!
              J10- whatever inbalence...
              etc.

              and finally....

              HITBOXES!!!!

              PS. sorry for bad spelling...
KARKAND IO IS 4 YOU!! !!

                wrong

your average nade spammer doesnt throw 4 nades and go "hey, im out of nades, ill go shoot people with a real weapon"...its more like "WHERE THE HELL IS AMMO I NEED MORE GRENADES" 2 would only cause more running around, more ammo giving points, more people as support.

Ok, you make a decent point, but I still do not believe there is this 'safety net' for new guys. The guys who top the tables in the games I play are pretty much always the best players and- for the most part- deserve to be there.

When was the last time you saw a lucky noob owning everyone consistently? The luck may play a part in a few kills, but more skilled players will always win out with all-round game knowledge and skill.

I admit at first i was pissed off when they took the ability to jump and shoot out of the game, as it got me out of a lot of tight situations. But then i realised without bunnyhopping I had to think twice before I ran into a fight guns blazing. I think this has had a beneficial effect on the way i play the game.

Personally I hardly play battlefield anymore because it feels too arcade-like since i loaded up Project Reality.

There would never be bunnyhopping if weapons were reliable. Thats a cold and hard truth. Just look at CS.

Re: My vision of this game.

Many people are missing a point here. The truth is everybody plays on 64 man servers where there pc can't cope with it. Even there are only 32 players or so they still play on the big *** memory loaded maps woundering around searching for enemies.

While lag won't be that noticable for you, the hitboxes get really screwy.
I bet everyone puts on AA as well cos it looks worse without. Well I can ensure you need 2 gig memory to get smooth gameplay. Otherwise your shots go bezerk. Even with sniping I noticed a vast improvement with my new rig. Headshots are going very consistantly now.
I've got very powerfull cpu now which is needed in 64 player maps.

So if you're shots not registering well, lower your graphics. But leave the AA on lol.

EDIT : even knifing goes good now, i couldn't hit anyone at all before. Now with better righ I can go on a battle with someone firing at me. Two , three in a row even hehe

                          (sorry)

Akkk! You beat me to it. There was no jumping in Doom or Wolfenstein3D or Catacomb 3D (Who is old enough to remember that one?). The first mainstream FPS I remember with the ability to jump was Rise of the Triad.

Although I hate the random cone of fire, I disagree that it doesn't exist with real weapons. No human soldier is 100% accurate. No weapon is 100% accurate, either. Even if you remove human error from the equation and fire a round from a rifle fixed in a mount, multiple consecutive rounds fired at a target 200m away will strike in different spots.
As a soldier who qualifies expert regularly with my M16 and M9, I know that even if I hit my targets the rounds hit different areas on the target, even if I aim for center-mass every time. Bullets have imperfections, rifles have inperfections, sights have imperfections, humans are fundamentally flawed.
Also, even if BF2 was supposed to be "Arcadey," it is also marketed as a realistic-ish FPS with modern weapons and vehicles. It isn't even possible to code how random a weapon would be when fired by someone jumping in the air in full "battle-rattle." A troop trying to bring his weapon to bear in the air while jumping with 60lbs or so of gear is only going to hurt himself and maybe hit a wall. He would never, ever, hit a target more than a few feet away, and would still likely miss that, as well. He'd probably blow out his knees on impact, too. Concentrating on firing a weapon would distract him from how soon he's going to hit the ground with all that gear on. This will make him hit the ground with his legs extended, which will jack up his knees and/or back. Then he gets a profile and his squad is out 1 body for the next patrol...

                            Thank you Jim.

AR don't hit what your aiming at all the time 100%, never mind running down the street huffing and puffing then bringing the weapon up for a quick cheek to stalk orientation and firing. Sand bags and completely controlled breathing don't ever produce shot after shot right on target.

I don't suggest you try it because it's dangerous but if you have access to even a carbine, try running 30yards and then aiming at anything and pulling off a decent shot. I doubt you'll hit anything with any kind of consistency.

While BF2 is not real and not a simulation it does have a reason for being. It's an attempt to make a highbred shooter. Using older physics and attempting to modify them to create a different feel.

Cone of fire= chaos, teamwork defeats chaos. That is the formula for BF2, it's the reason for the map lay outs, the modes of play and every other thing surrounding it's creation.

It's not a game if you've got an online ego. Believe me going from RogueSpear to BF1942 and then to BF2 was a culture shock. I had a tough time realizing that no matter how hard I tried I simply would never become a "Rambo" , no one will, that's the idea. To deflect away from individual power and thus put an onus on the team aspects of the game.

I used to have a quote about BF1942 and it still stands true about BF2:

"It's the missing of a shot that makes it exciting, not the hitting of one"

Normally the move to make if you don't like a game's engine is to play another game, not call for it to be removed, which would most likely be impossible anyway.

I love reading people trying to defend the bad hit detection is in this game.

Monks point is, the weapons need to at least be accurate on the first shot to near 100%. I can not begin to count the number of times I have had an enemy in my sight dead to rights head shot, and they just get up and run away. I don't care that if I am firing my 15th round in a burst and it doesn't even land in the server, as long as the first one is a kill shot.

The fixes for dolphindiving, and prone spamming are dead on. The animations didn't match what the player was seeing, and they really still don't. I don't see the grenade reduction helping in pubs, unless the same change to resupply was made as in BF2Pro, which is you thought there was crying now? Oooooh boy.

And yea, the AT, don't get me started...
