i dont considered BF2 "run and gun". novalogic games are run and gun, where no matter how you move/crouch/prone your weapon accuracy doesnt change any.

        Takeout,

indeed, and even with a game where you can kill anyone with 1-3 shots, you can survive for sh!tload of time and have tons of fun, and even with slower speed, movement is fluid, motion is not distracting, and the delay between crouching and standing is long enough to not to be spammed, and short enough to not to be annoying. A well thought out game.

As for adapting to changes... Hmm, people should adapt to the change, rise in skill level is part of the change.

Re: Now i feel the pain of the nerf

How could EA be so stupid?
Well, they can. After all mistakes with BF2 they promised they'd never touch gameplay mechanisms again afterwards. Maybe they even learnt something. And this isn't about exploiting and stuff, it's about changing things radically afterwards. It doesn't affect casual players, but if you've trained 24/7 to learn things smoothly and suddenly something critical is changed... Can you even imagine this in some other games?

Yes taking out the ability to fire while shoot was stupid I agree.

But to be honest all infanty looked like this before the delay.

I mean seriosuly is that a way we wanted to play?
I mean the delays werent a perfect fix, but that play style was way to nuts and ruined the game.
That title says macro testing, but I doubt it. If you can't do that and much more without help you must be retarded. Doing that and shooting and everything and still being able to shoot does take some skill no question about that (but isn't computer games about skill? who knows and master the better, wins?). And macro (if it's even possible) isn't that handy at all, it limits too much , because good players can express themselves better without limiting things.

no, they want to improve there stats... they get owned, and cry to ea cause there stats get ruined. The game even takes LESS skill now. EA keeps putting a smaller and smallert distance betwwen skill levels in this game, and its retarded. People will still whine till there stats are all the same.

All they had to do to "fix" dolohin diving was to make prone = false while in the air, that's it. To "fix" the noobtube, just make an arming distance, no need to have it weakened, or bouncing all over. Want to "fix" C4 chucking? Just limit the distance it could be thrown as they did in the last patch. No need whatsoever to remove the ability to jump and shoot, or add pauses to movement. But alas, the whining masses pushed underpaid bad coders to rape the game. Funny thing is, of all the players I know that used to C4 chuck and dolphin dive, not a single one of them became a worse player. As a matter of fact, if anything, they kill more enemy since simple evasion tactics are now gone, the noobs are even more of a sitting duck. Some people like to say "just take cover and return fire" yea, ok, that's a great idea in a game that you can get shot around corners, grenade spammed, get clipped through walls.

And a little tip for some of you guys, strafing side to side has even more of an effect than dolphin diving usually did, as far as hitboxes lagging forward or behind a player. I can't count how many times I have come around a corner to find three or more enemy and simply hit A and laid into them all.

Here we go again... complaining yada yada blah blah blah.... (oh well I don't know, maybe YOU'RE the one that's crying and complaining about not being able to bunny hop?) there are other things that WORK withought being/looking retarded. How bout you try them, and stop crying because EA/Dice got rid of your beloved dolphin diving ability.

The game is not **** now, it's better since they got rid of flying characters. I've not noticed any bad change to the game. I never used to dolphin dive or bunny hop... all the delay stuff that the game has now does not affect me one bit.

Re: Now i feel the pain of the nerf

ok i guess i see your guys point now.. it does look pretty ridiculous proning in the air. I just think this game would be much better if they quicken some things up a bit. And i disagree to those who think that the cone of fire is ****. I though that was a great idea when i first started playing this game. I used to play BF2 MC, and the accuracy in that is close to pinpoint. I prefer the PC version, the infantry combat is just so much better with the random deviation. It allows you to take out more than 1-2 people per life, instead, the cone allows you to live longer. Well anyway i think that dolpin diving= OUT superman flying= OUT but firing while airborne should be = IN.

andd i think since this game is suppose to be based around "skill", they should seriously remove anything you set and forget, (at mines, and most of all clays). The lowest they could go is c4. I dont mind grenades as much as i mind claymore spamming, because atleast claymores are a guaranteed kill in ff off servers, and grenades somewhat require some skill. Seriously though i love this game, but im just trying to discuss ways of improving it.

Yes, but that is not what the game is marketed as, especially when it first came out. It didn't say on the box like it might with Unreal Tournament, Halo, or Quake.

Secondly, I'm not really using the 'realistic' argument. No game is truly realistic. But it has to be 'believable'.

We all know movies and the characters in it are not 'real', but we are willing to suspend our disbelief for entertainment purposes. It's only when the hero does something so absurd (ie., Transporter 2: Hero knocks off bomb attached to bottom of car by flipping the car upside down in the air, and using a crane hook to knock it off), that the immersion is destroyed and we're like "Ok, now THAT was retarded!".

Sure, BF2 is not realistic, but it doesn't mean that there can't be at least some semblance of believability in it. That's what we're talking about when we're saying 'realistic'.

Re: Now i feel the pain of the nerf

I agree with ya Neptune. It's also not really a run an gun either. This game is not supposed to be Operation Flashpoint/ArmA though, and I have gotten used to the Cone of Fire. I do have a lot of fun on the FullContactWar server(only one I play really). They do force squading but usually everyone teams up and works together and there is always room for a lone sniper squad or two. Bf2 can be rewarding and fun and I don't pay attention to the realism you don't see that is missing.

For example: I play Falcon 4, the most realistic flight sim to date(open falcon version). Some guys will complain when you can load ordnance that is no longer in service or is not in service yet. Does it really matter that I can load 3 mavericks on a hardpoint but the sim doesn't let you because in RL the 3rd missle MAY burn the back of the aircraft and would only load 3 in the event of soviet tank rush. They are ANAL about total realism. This sim is 9, yes 9, years old and yet looks only 2(constant code and graphics work). It takes many people years to become proficient at it. You cant even talk to the control tower if not on the right freq. But there is classified/other stuff I'll never use or notice(IFF/NCTR), If I don't use it or notice it I won't miss it.

So BF2 maybe unrealistic in some respects but you do have to make a compromise in this situation. I think BF2 is decent all around. Frustrating at times yes, but look at my stats, while not great they are OK, man i freaked when I gold on that server. I got basic sniper(first try) in 1 round(never played sniper b4) and had NO problem aiming.
I do play for stats somewhat but squad and winning round come first. With a team of players like that it can be very rewarding.

                          Funny.

The things which have been 'nerfed' in this game, have been due to the majority of the community's inability to adapt and overcome.

For instance, people who complain about 'armor whores', must have a different kit selection screen than me. Apparently their's doesn't have a kit specifically designed to deal with armored threats. I guess it's a bug.

Instead of whining about that fact that you are no longer able to bunnyhop or dolphin dive, I suggest you adapt, and come up with some new tactics and strategies.

Its, not that I hate it, but the space between a "good" player and a "bad" player is becomming more and more narrow. I all for "realism" (to a point) as long as they are not taking any skill away (which they have). Also, every damn patch that comes out, it seems like infantry combat has to be relearned, and its poop...
