Multiple computers behind router connecting to same server...

Is this still an issue with BF2 and/or PB? I cant seem to be able to connect to my favorite ranked servers when someone else on the LAN is also connected to it.

I searched the forums, but no posts are newer than a year ago.

well when I was trying to get my son logged onto bf2 it wouldnt work thru a router, I went to best buy and the guy there told me to use a switcher, its basically the same thing as a router but allows each pc to connect seperately instead of one connection split up
I bougth one but cant tell you if it worked yet because my boys pc is FUBAR and Im waiting on a new vid card and psu

    Ill keep you informed

I never had any issues having my wife, my best friend, and me all in the same server going through my router. Well, I can't say there were NO issues. VoIP didn't work quite right, so I had to yell over their headsets to talk to them. Otherwise it was quite painless.

What type of router are you using? you may want to look into upgrading the firmware on the router. I have uesed both Netgear and linksys multipule (3 or more on same isp) with no issues using both of these routers. hope this helps. also who is your isp and what type of connection do you have?

Are you running a static IP? Do you have your ports all forwarded

You dont HAVE to forward the ports! A router appends Lan info (internal LAN ID) to the outgoing WAN packets so the replys can find their way back, If the server is replying to your IP address it is using the IP supplied by the router WITH the appended data. The router knows which LAN computer the reply is for by the appended data. I run 5 puters on an 8 port router broadband and have had 3 on BF2 at the same time no forwarded ports

Of course they ALL need seperate CD KEYS, cant play 4 instances of game online with 1 cd key

Most routers have a hard reset switch. You would have to set it back up wtih your ISP as far as login and password, but it may clear any setting you had previously put in that are causing issues now.

Unless Neon is on target regarding the CD keys not being unique.
