they would have to make some sort of patch 4 bf2 so that punkbuster would recognize gamecam, im guessing that gamecam runs atatched to your game so the punkbuster could see it as a hack.

if you play at 1600x1200 and record at full size, then it will bog your computer down, but recording at 1280x1024 at HALF SIZE should not affect any reasonable computer.

read reasonable as: A64, 6600gt or better and an SATA harddrive. and theres not really an excuse to have a pc slower than that because you can buy those parts very cheaply.
i play on ALL lowest possible setting but on full size recording....if i switch to half will that clean it up?

yea, but if your at 800x600 a half size recording would be rather small at 400x300.

I have a 7800gt 256mb, 2 gigs of ram, 3700+ amd 64 and a SATA hard disk. When i tried to record with fraps on full screen @ 40fps (with audio recording as well) it lagged pretty bad. It was pretty choppy but playable on infantry but definitely not in jets or choppers. Had to switch to half size.

Simple fact is you need to lower your gaming detail down substantially to record successfully with fraps even with some of the specs displayed here. The fact is when you encode it anyway its likely to be equal to or less than 800x600. So set your fraps recording detail to 800x600 then play with the detail. I usually turn off dynamic lighting and shadows, medium detail for most settings, fullscreen fraps settings with sound and atleast 60fps setting to record in fraps.

Best bet is to make another account to use when recording fraps with the resolution set and pre-tested that works without bogging your machine down. If your machine can game at 1600x1200 don't expect to record fraps at that res without it bogging your machine down, lower your res.

I always wanted to record my matches, but my old computer sucks. I just got an 8800, E6400 core 2 duo, and 2 gigs of ram, and god damn, I record all high with fraps, at highest resolution with 70+ FPS XD. 64 people server pubs i tested it in, I would have it at 100+ If it was a 5v5

dont record at 40fps!!! it means it writes to the disk 10x a second more than with 30fps and it will maybe cause sync issues when encoding the final video.

30fps is close to the usual 29.976fps that you will encode to.

yup you want the video file to be around 800x600, its not too big and not too small.

and i say the same to you, dont record at 60fps, its OTT and will bog the pc down because it writes to the disk TOO much.

i dont think my sata2 disk could even handle that much lol

2x raptors in raid could maybe handle it, lotta ££££ to use them tho.

Try BattleDirector. It doesn't do first person like Fraps, but seems like a decent enough replacement for Battlelauncher. Or, you can learn all the ~ commands and make cam tracks, which is really all BL, and BD are, acting front ends for ingame commands.

i am yet to use fraps, but i will be using it soon. So is it possible to set fraps to compress while its recording instesd of the uncompressed file? but that might go to slow

no, uncompressed only. make sure you have plenty of hard disk space left :)

I suggest you use renderer.drawfps 1 while shooting a Fraps, either you aren't playing at 100, bf2 maxs at 100fps, unless you have a supercomputer that can write to disk and display the overlay you're below 100 fps. Best I have ever been able to get is mid 50-s, peaking into the low 60s once in while, and I can play with everything maxed out easily at an average of 98 fps.
