Lost manual, trying to reinstall but read other threads.

I've read tons of threads talking about the 1.0.3 patch and how it encrypts your serial # to stop theft. Now I have built a new computer and still have the old one with bf2 sitting on it. I'm starting to realize that getting my original cd key back won't happen but is it possible to clone everything bf2 on my old comp and put it on my new one?

If thats not possible would it be possible to install the game over again using my roommates cd key and then just putting in my encrypted serial number once the game has been installed?

not sure if that will work (2nd idea) but it sounds logical and its worth a shot

or if u registered with EA when u first installed the game, they have ur cd key stored somewhere on their site

I tried to register it but it says my serial number is wrong and it displays the long encryption as my number.

I just installed my roommates fully legal version using his serial #. I then proceeded to copy my encrypted serial number and put it in the new registry. I am unable to join servers unfortunately.

You are stuck with the option of just paying EA $10 for a replacement key.
