Unlocks for Kits - SF after BF2?

My friend recently purchased SF, and is trying to obtain the 2nd unlocks for various kits.

What is required for him to do so?
His rank is First Sergeant, and he has not played SF at all.

It is my understanding that you must finish a round on a SF map and register some points before the SF unlocks become available to the player?

And would he be receiving multiple unlocks considering his rank? That is, would he be given more than one unlock, or does he have to reach the next rank to unlock multiple kits?

all that is required is to play SF on a ranked server and get some points. I dont even think 1 whole round is required, just enough time to get the points added to your account. 5 minutes *should* do it.

yes he will receive multiple unlocks for that rank. I think he will be getting 6 additional unlocks for 1st sgt.

My friend reported that it worked, he received 6 unlocks in total.

It's a "whole new game" for him as he puts it :laugh:

He will be extremely happy with SF if he's had only vanilla this whole time. The new maps and the extra equipment rock.

I think he's enjoying the SF unlocks on the regular BF2 maps that he and I both frequent. It's funny as I have become a fan of the SVD on the MEC sides while my friend is boasting about the L96A1. I've grown sick of the L96A1 while it's totally new for him.

Unfortunately I've become a Karkand regular, with Dalian Plant and Jalalabad as other regular map choices.

Gotta' snap the habit of choosing those maps and play some SF maps.
Warlord IO was quite interesting - at least 20 snipers on each side!
