BF2,SF and 2142 problem

Right here we go i was able to play bf2 bf2sf and 2142 normaly no errors or anything but then suddenly when i tried to load nay of them it would crash after the splash screen and the bf2.exe and ~e5.0001 would be sitting idle in the task manger but the ~e5.0001 would be running at 50% of cpu.

Here's the funny thing when this problem occurred i decided to reformat after doing that guess what still the same all games would not, load past the splash screen and still has the same status in task manager plzzz can some one help me or if anyone has this problem join me in to trying to fix this prob.

PS. no silly answers like ea suck and reformat reinstall drivers i reformated thats all if that coverd

The two other threads like this ended up with resolution only after a reformat and complete reinstall. Something may have gone in nerfed the first time. Even though it's not what you want to read, and there is a slight possibility your situation is different, it doesn't change the probable answer.

Do you have any special software you use for defrag or virus/spyware that is out of the free/ordinary?

thank you for the reply its much appreciated i use since i reformatted my dad has installed avg, zonelabs, avg anti spyware, spybot, system mechanic, tuneup utilities 2007, adaware and ashampo

I've heard System Mechanic cause at least one other threads issue. Removing it didnt' help him as it had already nerfed something. He had to reformat, reinstall windows, reinstall game and finally reinstall 1.41 and didn't install system mechanic. This was his third reinstall. On his second, everything worked flawlessly (as possible for EA) till he added System mechanic.a

Do a find here for System mechanic and you'll find the thread.

I'm sure we can guide you through without a reformat. Did you only install that program without touching it (i.e. running it)?

AFAIK, the overwhelming majority of programs simply **** stuff up by writing to the registry, or writing to common files folder. Nothing like Win 95 where if a program did something, you were almost definitely nicely ****ed.

sorry for the l8 reply on how things went ive just been so happy that ive got my 2142 well the whole bf series thank you guys so much i really appreciate it, any problems ill try and do the same for you guys
