Bought new mic and cant use in bf2! how do i install?!?!?!?!?!? PLEASE HELP

ive been playing battlefield for about 6 months, so i finally decide to get a mic-but i cant use it
how do i use it??? do i have to install or options in bf2? i dont want to reinstall battlefield, so can anyone help me?

While in a squad, press "B" to activate your mic.

If you are squad leader, press "V" to talk with your commander.

wat should i search for?

ive pressed b and nothing shows up
i think i need to install the mic before anything, right?
cuz ive plugged it in and thats about as far as i am

it depends on if the server has voip activated.

you dont really need to install one

goto your bf2 settings and check to see if its gettin feed

yes im trying it on those servers but it wont work and nothing shows up

Windows XP: Start, Contorl Panel, Sound Speech, and Audio Devices, Sound and Audio Devices, Voice, Test hardware follow instructions.

This will tell you if your mic is working at all.

If not, make sure you've plugged it in right, and that its not on mute. Alot of mic's come with mute switches on them.

i know its working and the test works, but how do i use it on battlefield 2?

log into game. go to options. go to AUDIO. Click ENABLE on upper right area and then APPLY in lower right area.

Make sure your sound card drivers are updated.

Stop making multiple posts of the same thing. It's annoying.

I'm actually having the same problem. I had it work at one point than I got another mic. I normally use the one built into my cam but that was not working so I pluged in the wired one i have and still have no luck. I have tried everthing posted above and I know my mic, well both of them work yet no luck. basically why i know its not working is when i go into options/audio and test the mic it does not pic up anything. If you have multiple mic's do you need to set it to one? but even that I can have them both pluged in and neither will work(one uses USB other plugs into mic spot). So ya that my problem, any master minds here? cause i know my comp will run it, like it did b4 when i had the game install at one point.

Havin the same problem here, I got a mic built in to my cam wich is built into my laptop. It didn't work with bf2, then I tried a headset but even that one didn't work...
