question about the 8600

how come its so cheap?? my 7900 costs more than that?? $179 for an 8600 ultra?? hell ill pick it up when it comes out lol

It's cheap because it's a low end card. Well, mid-range. I'm pretty sure the 7900 will still outperform it, just because the 8600 is next-gen doesn't mean it's (very) fast.

The 8600 GT will be the equivalent of a 7900GS.
The 8600 Ultra will be the equivalkent of a 7900GT.

other way round, gs are the poorer version basically
ultra are higher clocks but the GT's have more pixel pipelines and higher clock speeds hence the price difference.
