Patch v1.41

OK... heres the deal...

Been playing BF2 single player for ages but just got the net and this particular patch...

Q: Is it the latest patch and where do I put it? (I really dont know what im doing or talking about)

P.s. I downloaded it somewhere in my BF2 folder and installed it but nothings changed???

It was likely an .exe or a .zip or .rar.

If it was an .exe, you simply have to double-click on the icon, and it will install itself automatically.

If it is a .zip or .rar, you will need ot unzip it to the desktop using WinRAR or WinZip and then it will be en .exe.

yes its the latest patch, and their should be an ingame version number top right corner,
Patch 1.41 = 1.1.2965-797.0

yeah .exe, ive installed it but does it matter where it goes? because nothing has changed in multiplayer or anything? and I cant play anyway because every game has a different version... But the thing is mine says it isne version 1.41?

It will install itself, so no, to your first question.

You should see more servers showing up, since nearly every single one is running the latest patch.

Where did you download the patch from? You may have downloaded the incorrect version.

not sure... downloaded it this arfternoon.

yeah still no servers and nothings changed still...

It seemed legitimate and installed correctly... hmmm

I might download it again from the multiplayer links that pop up

the 1.41 patch is for a fresh install of bf2. do not install 1.41 over any other patches.

Does the main menu show the exact version number that Scinto posted (1.1.2965-797.0)? Do you see any servers at all in the game browser?

Not true. 1.41 is a full patch which means it should work regardless of any patches you already have installed.

link for 1.41 comes up still (which goes nowhere). and no, the version

number is 1.1.2552-344.0 as apposed to the one scinto posted. I also have

no other patches... this was the first ive downloaded but I have been playing

Even after you have downloaded and applied the 1.41 patch, you will still get that pop up at the beginning of BF2.

-downloaded the patch again from the totalBF2 site
-installed it succesfully
-still showing that I have version 1.0

As Garabaldi says, the pop up happens regardless of what patch you have installed.

That is patch 1.10 which is only installed by the Special Forces expansion (and gets installed even if you are already on a higher patch). Did you install the 1.41 patch after you installed SF?

Version 1.0 would show 1.0.2442 on the main menu.

1. Uninsstall BF2 and SF.
2. Reinstall BF2.
3. Reinstall SF.
4. Apply the 1.41 patch.

I'm not sure what else to suggest.
