Hi, I am looking for a battlerecorder server. Need it to get videos for my chopper video. But everytime i join one the server nevers gives me the demo. So just post ip or something.Also is there anyway to get rid of all the demos that are not downloaded?

Yes you can either manually delete them or go into My documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001 where 0001 is the profile you want to delete them from I'm assuming you mean bookmarks? Go into the bookmarks.con file and delete the contents.

well the server has to have a map where it has a chopper on it

The RR server has a lot of maps with choppers, just wait for it to cycle through.

We run every map that has heli's in it so plenty to choose from. 2 rounds per map. Or if ya could jump on our TS server and ask for a map change and we will change it at the end of the round.

You can also just turn on "BattleRecorder" in your filters and search through the other 500+ servers with chopper maps instead of listening to admins advertising their own server...

LMAO Doggie have you ever tried your own advice? Have you ever tried looking through all these servers that the filter shows up that have BR? Obviously not because 99% of them don't have BR setup properly. Sure it will show up on the filter, so you join a server player a round, try to download the BR to only find it fail to download.

How about you go through the 500 servers and tell me how many have BR working?

Can you not record your demos client side like with counterstrike? Without FRAPS?

Only in Singleplayer and LAN, you cannot do that on an online server unless they have BR setup and working correctly.

The filter only searches for autorecord = 1 Any server can turn that on and it will show up in the filter as a server with BR. However there are lots of other settings and configs that have to be setup correctly for the BR to bookmark and be downloadable otherwise when you try and download it, it will come up as failed.

If you ran a poll as to how many players have sucessfully downloaded a BR demo it would be less than 5% of the player base. I know many players that have played since day 1 and never found a server with working BR. Why do you think they ask? Have you ever sucessfully downloaded a BR demo Doggie? Can you name another server with 100% functional BR?

If you want to turn on BR in SP, open up the console by hitting ~ tilde. Then type in demo.recordDemo <demonamehere> To stop the recording open the console again and type demo.stopRecording As I said this won't work for an online server though.

That's quite ****ty, why is this the case? Is it honestly that hard to add functionality that's been in FPS games for ages?

The BR is done server side in BF2. That's the way the code is written. Not ideal yes, but better than nothing.

Which, thanks to the inept server admins (well, it's not exactly their fault either) is exactly what we have.

Unfortunately the documentation (or lack thereof) for server admins is really crap on how to setup BR. That's why most can't work it out and can't set it up. It also doesn't help that DICE won't allow FTP access to the server. So you need to setup BR on a server you got FTP to or make your own server to edit the config file then get your host to upload the config file to your ranked server.
