help with lost cd key

hey i just got a new computer but i lost my book with the cd keys on it but i have the game installed on my old computer anyway i can view the keys?

Yes there is. And there must be a topic about this somewhere.

Open regedit (Start-menu -> Run -> regedit)

Goto
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc

or with Special Forces
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2 Special Forces\ergc

Those are your CD key hashes. You can't retreive the actual key, but that's not actually even needed. Right-click on tree(s) and select export and save the key hashes somewhere. Now you need to install game on your new computer and run the reg files to use your own key. Problem is that you need a key to install the game, but I guess you'll figure that out. Alternatively you can just copy BF2 folder from old computer.

Then after you have done this, use the "Register this copy with EA" link to get a decrypted version of your key online. Wooo, at least EA did something right for once.
