Yeah theres no problems there, most likely not on par with PC version but probably fairly close.

I read a review where the only difference from Oblivion on 360 and the PC with a good rig was a 30FPS drop at time of 360 release.

Yes it meets its own API spec, that is quite clear if you research into it. My point being that it shares characteristic of both DX9, DX10 and its unique characteristics. The latter not necessarily and most likely not better than DX10.

I know you like your consoles that is apparent from your avatar amongst other things, but I find it hard when I see console fanbois raving on as if the 360 is the holy grail itself of gaming hardware.

Rumors of a 360 version of the upcoming shooter are dead again.

In a recent installment of its weekly podcast, 1Up Yours, gaming website 1Up revealed that an Xbox 360 version of Crysis was currently under development. In the podcast, editors claimed that during CES they had spoken to developers at Crytek who asserted that the Xbox 360 version of the game would be completely different from its PC counterpart due to the 360's lack of Direct X10 support

However, an Electronics Arts rep disputed the claims. Apparently, there was some sort of miscommunication which led the editors to assume that a 360 version of the upcoming shooter was currently in development. EA's spokesman confirmed that this was nowhere near an official announcement and expected a retraction to be forthcoming.

I have an unhealthy interest in the Halo series, yes. I just finished the fourth book. As far as me thinking the 360 being the holy grail of hardware, well, you're dead wrong. I'm simply defending a decent piece of hardware from overexposure to extreme PC fanboism.

The only fanboy in this thread is you seeing as you have a extreme negative bias towards consoles. Do you even own a current gen console AND a PC? I'm interested to know. You probably haven't invested enough time into BOTH to make accurate statements. You're basing your knowledge off of articles you've READ.

I get to see games in motion, live in person, on both platforms. Until you do the same, your opinion holds no substance to me.

My statement still stands to this day and time. MOST current gen console games look better than any offerings on the PC. When Crysis is released that will change.

Yep, 360 and PS3 games look better than anything on the PC atm. It`s common for consoles to lead for 6 months- a year. That time is now soon over- Crysis, UT 2007, Frontlines, UE3 games with full Dx10 support, etc.

I did some reserch on the x360 GPU

Its basicially a laptop style ATI x1800xt with SM 3.0 and DX9.0c

so no its not any more DX10 than my card

It would seem that you misinterpreted me, I was saying that some people do see it as the holy-grail, so far as I can see you do not.

                Thanks for that

My best friend bought an XBox 360 and only had oblivion and played it a lot and whilst we were all round there some times as well I then played it on my PC and saw marginal improvements on the 360.

I don't know where you got that, but it's wrong. The r500 ati gpu in the 360 has unified shaders, and supports shader model 3.0+ (which is not 4.0, as 4.0 is part of dx10). Until the 8800 series from nvidia (and the r600 from ati, which should be out soon) there was no other graphics card like it being mass produced. It's nothing like the x1800xt, or any other ati card currently out.

Ps: The ps3 uses a modified 7800gtx with a 128mbit memory interface, slower clock speeds, and has to share its 256mb of memory with the processor, so it's actually pretty weak.
