High pitched sounds hack?

i was talking to a few server owners (no idea if they pay for a ranked or if its non ranked, but whatever) tuesday night at my local mall about a high pitched sounds while playing bf2. i said i wasnt sure if it was a hardware problem or possibly my speakers, or even the game. i have had the high pitched sound before quite a few months ago and at that time i though my sound card was dying, the sound only came from bf2 though so i figured it was jsut the game. sunday night i was playing on the insomnia365 24/7 Wake 64 player server and i started getting the high pitched sound again. then one of the guys mentions to me that there is supposedly a hack that lets you target a certain player and it makes high pitched sounds to annoy that person. i dont remember what round it was, but some player started using the commander hack to drop alot of cars near the aircraft carrier. i was still getting the high pitched sound then too, but i dont know if it was the same person doing it.

anyway, i though i would just share this with everyone and find out if it is at all true or not. i have only had the high pitched sounds 3 times in the last year or so.

sounds unlikely (pardon the pun), if it is a hack then it's the most pointless hack in the world.

Could be the onset of tinnitus from playing the game at a too high volume.

I've had that. AFAIK it is or was something to do with PB unless I'm getting the noises confused.

Yeah, it's fun to be an admin, and torture players on your server :/ Thank god BF2 doesn't have all the abusive admin mods found in other games like Counterstrike, to keep people like you in check.

No, i already have that, but not from gaming. I almost never use headphones and keep the volume at a moderate level.

i've had people talk over the viop that wheren't in my squad or the commander. nothing shows up on the screen when they talk. most of the time it's just HA ,HA ,HA or something to just let you know there hacking on the server.

they could be just making some feedback noise with there mic to piss you off.

I hear the "ha ha ha" sometimes, except its more like a "heh heh heh" and its usually after someone mows down a crapload of people. I always freak out and turn around to see if someone is standing behind me, since I almost NEVER hear that sound ingame. About the high pitched sound, never heard it.

I've heard of lag hacks(not for BF2), where when you target someone their screen effs up like they're experiencing a lag spike. It'd be awesome if "There is a problem with your connection" came up.
