    CPU, Video Card, or RAM?

    i was looking at a pretty good deal on tiger for an amd 4000+ (939), but then noticed maybe i should get another gig of ram or upgrade my video card, the thing is i can only upgrade one thing at this point in time, my price range is 90-145 bucks right about now, here are my specs:

    amd 64 3000+ (939)

    1 gig of ddr 400

    nvidia 6600GT 128mb

    ...oh yeah, if it is my cpu i wanna stay 939, cant afford to go am2 with the ram and all...

      I would upgrade the video card to a 7600GT now. Then save up for some more RAM.

              For BF2? yes
              For newer games? not really

              But, if you can only upgrade 1 part, then the video card would be the best option.

                          no aa, 1024 x 768, all medium except high effects and texture filtering....which i do get studders on when there are big explosions/a whole lot going on at once

                              adding a 7600GT will allow you to play mostly high with textures and lighting on medium and 2xAA whith good frame rates. Adding another gig of RAM after the gpu upgrade will allow you to play all high and 4xAA

                                  yeah, it just seems like my cpu is very outdated, but ill take your advice, im looking at video cards now :P

                                      I have a 6600GT with 2GB ram. All high, 4x AA, 1024x768. 30-40 FPS avg. I would personally suggest more ram because when I upgraded, I went from all low to almost max plus a better framerate.

                                      I am planning on upgrading my video card when the GeForce 8 series drops in price. Technology moves so quickly these days....
