I've had that happen. We were doing a scrim or something and there was some confusion on whether it was on vanilla or pro, anyway someone said it was on pro so I loaded up and tried joining the server by IP, long story short it was on vanilla so it closed pro and opened the the regular one and when I got in the server it looked just like that (aside from the fact it was on Mashtuur City). I'm not sure what caused it, I hadn't restarted in awhile and had been playing almost all day, and I had also just messed with the resolution a little. I don't know if these possible causes had anything to do with what happened to you, but I know that I have seen the end result and it wasn't a problem (at least for me) after I shut down BF2 and restarted it.

i had something like that happen to me before, except it was at kark. i couldnt see the real ground, i saw what was under it. it turned out that it happened after i minimized the game while it was loading the map. i dont know why that caused it to happen, but it did.

i went to my firneds house, and his gfx was **** so i got them to go up a bit and look better then all we saw was Gun's running around.. no people.. ghosts with guns ;D
