    Graphics card issues!(i think)

BF2 installs perfectly for me. When i try starting up it gets past the little box woth battlefield 2 in it, then the screen goes blank and i return to my desktop. I just upgraded my graphics card to one that was assured to play any game. Ive tried re installing it and the same happens. PLease tell me that BF runs on any decent card???

    BTW its a Radeon X 1300XT

I cant get too techinical, but i do know bits about computers. I believe my RAM is 256mb, the card has got 256 DDR on it. I could play BF with my old card but it was very old and most of the time got black patches all over the map.(i cant remember the technical term) Thats why i upgraded. As for processor i have no idea exactly, but its AMD and running at about 1.9GHZ. The processor information may not be realistic because it was the last time i looked at how it was over clocking.

your ram will be causing alot of problems, bf2 is very ram hungry it really needs about 1gb of ram to run ok as for your card i dont know much about ati but someone else will be able to advise you on that, plus the memory on graphics cards doesnt mean much at all it all has to do with to speed of the card these days

Who "assured you" that an x1300 would "play any game"? They should have added, "but you won't enjoy it".

6600, 6800, x800, x1650, 7600, x850 series are all low-to-nearly-mid-end cards that in the $80-140 price range that are good enough for a nice frame rate (7600 in particular) with a modest-to-moderate amount of eye candy. An x1300 will make your databases fly, but not BF2 tanks...err...planes.

256mb ram in your computer isn't enough to enjoy gaming, either.

Maybe he meant he has 256mb of video card memory, but you need 512mb of ram and 128mb of video memory for minimum playing requirements
