Re: some ino on the new patch

I have been CTD'ing like crazy with 1.41 All other patches and in 900hrs I have CTD'ed maybe 3 or 4 times total. 1.41 I am nearly CTD'ing every round. I CTD'ed 3 times in 1 round. I doubt I'm the only one either as can bee seen in this thread.

Honestly, that might be my biggest hope, that the port over the 2142 engine revisions into BF2. I don't mind seeing a BF2 v2.0 patch that is over a gig or more in size if it fixes everything.

          Reduce F35 Hitbox size.

Increase damage from AA and SRAW/Eryx.

Make choppers (attack and transport) so they actually get hit by missiles or have to do more then a simple turn to evade. Taking them down with guns is tiring.

Increase rate at which repair points are earned.

Nerf Armour badge hours to match plane and chopper awards.

          Decrease J10 turn radius.

Remove common Karkand Exploits (yes, loads still exist).

Remove CTD (yes it still happens).

Remove commander bug where you have no fog, can't move and can't get rid of it unless you command again without restart of connection to server.

Make awards that don't show up in game show up.

Make the server browser like the 2142 one.

Fix locking problem on Bombers Laser Missiles.

Increase splash damage from BH guns.

More AA sites at Uncaps at airfields. Essex guns are way overpowered in comparison.

Reduce rate at which grenades can be throw. EG make a recharge time like the Shock Paddles.

Solve the can't make squads or only one squad issue server side.

All I can think of for the moment.

I definitely vouch for this to be fixed. This bug has been in the game for as long as I can remember, and is especially rampant on 1-map only servers.
            Very annoying!!

I would like to see all the crashes and lost connections fixed, game side at least.
I would like to see some of the weapons beefed up so that all the kits are useful, the vehicles also. Thats just my wish list or part of it anyway. Granade launcher? . . . . . . . .Red

Well since the patch, my load times have gone sky high on the first map to laod after I log on (but the rest load in 10 secs or less, like they should, I have a high spec machine and an 8meg pipe).

Otherwise, increase the set time for clays, to stop snipers clay spamming on maps like Karkand (they should be used to prepare a position or set a trap rather than dropped in a melee), and put some weaknesses in armour (at least for APCs) so you have a decent chance of killing one with an AT; make it easier to earn repair points - it seems almost impossible; and give the engineer some C4 to blow fixed assets and bridges etc as well as repairing them. Make it more powerful than the Spec Ops charge so he has to get well clear before setting it off, or put in a time delay so he can't use it in a fight like spec ops do.

I don't mean to be confrontational, but you seem to contradict yourself here. You want to take away the Sniper's ability to "clay spamming" but you want to give the Engineer the ability to "C4 spam"? What is the difference?

I do like your idea of giving Engineer's the ability to blow bridges as well as repair. It is consistent with all other aspect of the game where Kits can use their tools both offensively and defensively.

OK, needs to be thought thru because C4 spamming is also pants - but if an engineer had the ability to earn points for performing demolitions, that would be cool - but an implementation that avoided them being able to behave like crazed spec ops boys may be entirely unachievable. In short, I'm thinking that whether you set a deomlition charge or a claymore, you should have to do it with some deliberation, not a quick left klick on the run. The sniper should be preparing a position with clays before the enemy arrive, the engineer may be setting charges under fire (protected by his squad-mates of course as it takes some time) and perhaps needs to stand well back and sit thru a 10 second time delay (while an enemy tries to diffuse - oh yeah, that's counterstrike ). Or simply his charges won't stick to a moving vehicle!

Ok we'll get em to take all weapons off it then yeah, would that make you happy.

And as for the CTD's have you guys ever just tried repatching 1.41? cause i've found that the CTD's are just from a dodgy install. It's not like EA or DICE have put a CTD bug/ virus into the script.
I had one or two when i first patched with 1.41, redid it and ive only had 1 in over a month.
