Sorry it got so long, I tend to ramble.
Well, I had a little bit of time to actually play last night, and I have been sick to death of IO lately. So I hopped onto a lightly populated Wake server, one of the insomnia servers. I was US, we had no flags. Suprisingly enough, the Cobra was still sitting there on the carrier. So I hopped in, and asked in team if anyone wanted to gun/fly, because I was willing to do either. Nobody wanted to, so I just took off on my own.
I must say, it took just a little bit of practicing to get lethal with the chopper solo. My very first time out in it, I took out the Z-10 twice (they had two people in theres) and a couple of tanks, plus the sky cow once. Then, I tried to TV a J-10 that somebody had just hopped in, and I guess I pointed to much towards the ground, as I hit him, then immediatly died from hitting the ground. So a pretty good trip, not bad for a first attempt. All in all very fun.
Later on, I went to a 24/7 Dalian server, and was on US again. I got in the chopper, nobody wanted to gun, so I took off alone again, but made a squad, in case anyone wanted to join up. In a few minutes, somebody did, some Lt. General. He told me right away that he was having lag problems, so I would not get to mad if he missed, I told him I would not. Anyway, we then proceeded to die about 5 times straight from the enemy chopper, all but one of those, my gunner got off at least 1 TV. One time he got off three, but thats beside the point.
He asked if I just wanted to go off alone, because he kept missing, but I said if he wanted to stay, he could, so he did. Long story short, we ended up rocking the Chinese to there very core, I do not think he missed again the entire round.
Anywho, the reason I am telling this story is, Seat-Switching is fun, and can be very effective, but should only be used if absolutely nobody wants to gun. I could have been a jerk and left that guy on the ground, but I let him come, because it is a 2-seater chopper, and I feel that if anybody wants in, they should get to, and it ended up being a good idea. Basically, if you give someone enough chances, they will perform, and even if you do not get your high points, and your amazing chopper K/D ratio, you can still have a great time. I know that we had an absolute blast, even while he was missing, we were both just laughing about it.....
