Laptop wows!

When I go to play on a fresh install all I get is the BF2 opening screen, black screen and then back to the desktop. Any clues?
Duo 1.8
Geforce 7600
1 gig ram

set 800x600 and remove all refresh rate fixes from the gfx control panel

Make sure you have the most recent vid and sound card drivers. Defrag your drive for the hell of it.

when i go to do this, it says that there are no compatable drivers with my nvidia geforce go 7600 video card. the screen just turns black. my resolution is 1680x1050 desktop size.

i tried to set my resolution at 800x600 and it still did the black screen

Drivers for notebooks normally must come from the notebook manufacturer or a driver-mod site. ATI and nvidia don't support notebooks directly.

Its a sticky for a reason. I have that resolution to btw.

Make sure you get the 7600 GO drivers, not the desktop version.

Thank you guys, my bf2 actually works fine its for a friend who was here today who just bought the game. he was really fustrated so i figured i'd post up about it. thanks for the info, i'll let you know tomorrow if he got it to work.
