Eey guys,
Whats up with the SLI on motherboards? Can some1 help me with that? I heard that u can drive 2 pc cards at the same time. I wanna buy new pc - is it nessecary to buy SLI on my motherboard? I want my pc to be a pc which will be good in the future aswell.

Hey, (Not EEEYYY...)

SLI (Scalable Link Interface) means you can run two PCI-E graphics cards together in the same system for better performance. They are a good idea to buy but if you choose an SLI board it means you must stick with Nvidia cards. ATI uses crossfire. Same kinda thing just different technology. You can get boards that do both which would probably be your best bet.

To make it future proof, make sure that both PCI-e slots run in 16x mode when in SLI or Crossfire. Some boards nowadays only run one at 16x and the other at 8x. with DX10 its likely that both cards will need 16x

To add, unless you are SLI'ing high-end cards there is no point. Also the only improvement that SLI will have over single cards is you can run at high resolutions much easier.
