        Re: helo controls with mouse

I think part of my problem is that my stick (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) seems to have alot of play in it.... meaning it feels loose, I can actually move the stick a little in any direction and it doesnt move the helo, that little bit of play takes away from the accuracy therefore the helo is all over the place
I'm not too familiar with joysticks and I wasnt sure if this was normal or not, I was gonna take it back but then I thought that would be stupid if there is nothing wrong with it

Download the Wingman profiler and increase your sensitivity.

apparently you never reset to default, it resets EVERYTHING, all your controls for all vehicles
I have a lot of changes in my profile and I couldnt remember what the default was, but if you look at the original post I was asking advice on what to set the helo controls to so I could use m/kb........I didnt know everyone was gonna recommend DEFAULT controls

as far as this thread being 2 pages long............FVCKOFF!!!! I seen more idiotic threads go ALOT farther

I dont know why you guys really customize your sensitivity and everything because I didnt change it ever since I installed it and its good. When I first got BF2, I hate to say it but it came naturally to me for helis, Jets were a different story. Now I can own any heli solo or gunning with good pilot or vice versa. But now I own in jets even more than helis. Check my stats.

Well, I apologize, as I can truely see how this thread being more than a couple replies has shredded your grey matter. As a matter of fact, I'll get with the site owners and see if we can reduce all threads, and responses to a system of low grunts.

I have to change my sensitivity between mice. My Mx510 is not as sensitive as my MX1000, so I have to adjust some settings when my battery runs low and I have to switch.
I have also changed a few binds to take advantage of my two thumb buttons on each mouse. Using my thumb to prone instead of a pinky just makes more sense to me. I also use my extra buttons to change seats in vehicles. Yeah, I solo from time to time, so I made right click put me in the gunner seat and a thumb button puts me back in pilot seat and the same thumb button I also use for mouselook.

I just way this one laser mouse Logitech ( dont know model ) and I guess the sensitivity on it is good since I dont need to tweak the controls.

i can fly a transport chopper with ease with a K&M, i can hit a target to near perfection. Attack chopper on the other hand, not a chance.

                          2 things:

                          1) is there a way ton control the missile camera when being the copilot in apache?? basically,... can you move the camera more or youre restricted to what it gives you by default....... (and what is that weapon for? only for ground attack??)

                          2) I tried and changed all my settings to 10, 10, 10..... is it me or the difference is not huge??? i dont even see a difference.....

Your first question should be answered in most of chopper tutorials:

                            1. Goto http://files.bf2s.com/files.php?cat=4
Download and watch all Helicopter Tutorials: Lesson 1 to 4.
                            2. Goto http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/member.php?u=6276
Watch the signature section, download & watch video 1 to 3 and also read the tutorial he wrote (linked in that signature as well)

Your second question is involved with Controls.con file in your profile folder. Just open it in Notepad, scroll down to chopper section, and change the values to anything between 1 to 30. Then save and exit Notepad.

Shall you need to change the values again, use Notepad to change and save. If you make changes to your control inside BF2 and save from BF2, any value that's bigger than 10 will get reset to 10.

I won't go into details, cause... probably I'm as lazy as you're. Summary is the sliders on BF2's control page allows you only set those Yaw/Pitch/Sensitivity setting between 1 and 10. Using notepad editing, however, you can edit whatever value is accepted by BF2 game engine (max should be 30 for Yaw/Pitch/Sensitivity). Some people say 30 for chopper is overkill and will make it hard to control. Varies from person to person.

Also in BF2 control page it doesn't allow duplicate keys in some cases. Using Notepad editing you can assign one button to multiple actions, e.g. mouse 1 for both Fire and bring up the main map. It's not that useful so very few actually does that kind of binding. Most use it only to assign Left-Shift key to something else.

If you're bored, you can read this:
                                http://www.forumplanet.com/planetbat...6&p=1#18973835
That explains a lot of what's going on in Controls.con file.
