REAL TACICS none of this been there done that stuff.

You’ve read all the guides with the stuff saying

    "Have a mic"
    "How to use arty"
    "Be nice"
    "Respond to request"

Well no one talks about (or even knows) how hard being a commander is when you have a team that uses teamwork and follows orders (usually only a 20 person game 32 people just see no reason to listen) then you play it exactly like any RTS game which you should the only difference is that you can give more precise orders than to dumb bots.

When you play an RTS you don’t just send a bundle of units on a head on run against a fortified position you bring artillery and hit the static from long range or you hit them from the air first or you come from the front and the high ground to the left.

Rushing those units to their deaths is the same thing as simply clicking attack this flag ever think off actually trying to give orders that will get that flag? Or did you just leave it to chance? Ever take a look at how many people, and what kits are in that squad or did to just tell that 1 engineer to rush the flag without paying attention to the number of squad members in the squad?

Here is an example of how to fix this, you are playing as USMC commander on Karkand at you taken the gatehouse factory cement factory and warehouse, the mec holds the rest your next target is the suburbs. Take a 3 man squad and do a satellite scan then if there are no enemy troops on their path to the suburb then simply click attack the suburbs, if there are troops then order them into a position with cover that the enemy will cross(make sure its one they can get to before the enemy does(tell the squad lead why you ordered them into that weird spot and make sure he tells his squad, if you don’t tell them then they’ll just think you clicked the wrong spot then they’ll run Rambo, also give them the overall objective.)

Support them with supplies arty and vehicle and uav as needed yes it is worth it sometimes to give arty to help a small force because in the overall you are giving one arty strike for a flag, continue to move them up in this pattern until the flag is yours.
When a squad is taking a flag give them uav because if someone spawns there in a spot they can see that can screw it all over.

Combining a squad with a vehicle has deadly results think about this, on mashtuur or Jalalabad a tank isn’t that scary, because there are lots of places to hide, pop up and whack it with a anti tank then get down and reload, or hide wait till the tank faces another way them c4 them.
A tank with 2 or 3 infantry is different, suddenly it’s as if the tank has 3 more gunners and it’s next to impossible to get close and c4 it and anti tanks can be charge by infantry.
Order a squad to take a vehicle you dropped from flag to flag and the have the squad leader stay in the vehicle (gunner seat).
Tell the squad to drive up to a flag but NOT on the flag just so that it is close enough to shoot anyone there (vodnik, hmmv or apc are best for this) with the squad leader over watching the flag and 3 squad mates taking the flag it is nearly immune to infantry and light vehicle retaliation however a tank or apc can bust up the party real quick.

In terms of transport and attack chopper so much can be done is a willing squad leader is the pilot.
With a squadleadr as pilot order him to land somewhere where there are friendly troops, once they get in(on mashtuur they usually flood in) order him to land somewhere or the fly over somewhere and let them bail.

If there is a squad leader flying with a squad tell him to tell his squad mates to spawn on him, order him to notify you when he has 3+ (not including him) squad mates in the chopper then have him fly over a flag and let them bail and then stay hovering there at an altitude of 100(150-200 if he takes surface fire) and have his squad continually spawn on him and bail, then land once the flag is his to pickup his mates.

A squad leader in an attack chopper is awesome simply order him to areas where your troops could use some air support.

If you have a squad leader in a jet spot things for him to bomb and generally make them targets that are actually giving your troops trouble.

Having 2 squads attack a flag is basic unify and attack strategy, hover tell one squad to position themselves on a spot flanking a defended flag(out of the enemy firing range) and tell that squad that you’ve got another squad waiting for them to flank and move in before they move, this will let them know they aren’t alone. Tell the squad you have positioned in the front of the flag the same thing.
Once they are both ready then order them to attack (at the same time obviously) it may not seem like much but you know that often times in a heated fight that last awhile you tend to dig in and take cover like on Jalalabad when the mec troops fight their way toward the usmc uncap and usmc fight towards the outpost, both sides dig in the rocks, those crash vehicles on fire and blow out buildings, it makes them a lot harder to kill than someone standing and running.

When the squads attack if the flanking squad went unnoticed as planned when you zoom in so that you can see then foot soldiers duke it out.
You’ll notice the enemy troops facing towards the front and firing back while the flanking squad picks them off, by the time a single soldier realizes he’s being hit from his left, he will die to fast to tell his buddies and it will be a massacre.

On a side note if you are playing as assault and you end up in one of these dug in fights then throw smoke(as close to the enemy as possible, the closer it is to them the less they can see) then run around to the enemy’s flank taking cover the whole way to stay undetected when you get there it will be easy kills galore, you might even be able to score a few knife kills because they don’t know you are there.

if for any reason you cant have a squad flank slenly then have one squad fire like crazy tell them

OPEN FIRE I DONT CARE IF THEY ARE BEHIND COVER OR NOT JUST FIRE AND KEEP THEM BEHIND THERE COVER LIKE WOOSES.

the tell a squad 2 flank

I will add more but this is all 4 now my fingers r tired.

I'm not seeing anything new here though.... It falls under the "been there, done that" category.

    Sorry, mate.

Ditto. I don't understand what you are really trying to prove here.

I don't think any of your strategies are real. BF2 is really not a team oriented game especially on a pub. From my experiences, I can hike all the way across the map to get in position to cap airfield and take the time to invite people to join my squad and almost everyone says no. Even if they join they don't have the brains to spawn on me. It's even worse now after the latest patches because the teams get fragmented after the SL dies. The only strategy that remotely works is swarming the enemy.

Re: REAL TACICS none of this been there done that stuff.

From a commanders point of view theres exactly what you can do- point them at the flag. You shouldnt waste your time telling squads where and how they should engage, because past orders and most crucial intel, you rinformation will distract them.

Point the squad toward the flag, and there the real tactical RTS begins. Squad leader using VOIP. Just hope that he has trust in you, and he sets up his minimap to mazimum zoom for quick target engagement even before they reach his squads FOV. Your job is to zoom in, quikly spot the forces at the flag (or drop UAV), if they are using a vehicle as support (APC or armor), drop a crate at them, and come back in 20 seconds to either respot if necessary or drop UAV. Thats it.

Your main job- give intel to squads, give orders to squads, and gove general map overview to squads. BUT, in the same time try to play it out so the squads do whatever they want, and support them doing so. You can ask one particular squad to be your black ops squad, which job is to cap empty flags behind enemy lines.

Commanders put not enough pressure on trusting their squads and too much pressure on giving retarded orders, which are either obselete in 30 seconds, or strategically just a waste of good resources.

People running solo can be taken advantage of, you have to utilize chat screen and give 3 sorts of info. Enemy troop movement, enemy troop concentration at specific locations, and suggestions and/or warnings or artillery/UAV.

This will wear out your vocal cords, and your typing fingers, and your brain. But a commander is perhaps the most hardworking person, even in his little tac-screen. 99% however arent up to the task and think commander is there just to click orders, and drop ****.

*Informing of a flag being capped
*Telling which flag I would like, the squadleader does the approach tactics
            *Asking for demolitions where needed
*Which flags are now empty, if not, how many
*Informing the majority of enemies are hEoUr n hEoUr
*Attacking the position of certain things e.g. sniper hEoUr,
or Squad moving heOur please exterminate
*Warning the SL of C4, where he is
*HE'S BEHIND YOU!! is very helpful, or he's coming in now
*Congratulating squads for their efforts, makes them feel needed lol

*I have a habit of writing "ARTY!" ... just so people glimpse at their minimaps, not just SL

*Car drops should be requested, and supplies. I save them for UAV's, and/or tank whores needing assistance.
            *UAV SHOULD ALWAYS BE UP!!

            Extent of my service

              Good Post.

I think you should post this on the Project Reality section as well....would be very useful there as well.... tactics like that are used every game.

Thats about the size of it. And even if you do all those things well, as I do, some imbecile will still start a Mutiny vote. It's frustrating but I like to Command.

most players i command dont see the point in using superior terrain...thats why i play PRM sometimes and vanilla sometimes, unlike most people i find both PRM and vanilla fun and worthy to dork out over.
