I have experienced this also w/ numerous weapons, I believe you have to NOT enterupt the animation, let it run it's full cycle before pushing any button

Yep if you press a key somewhere in that animation sequence it fouls up.

and sometimes there is no animation for a normal reload

Yeah it my experience as SB said interupting the sequence makes it do it twice, although it has happened when I'm not doing anything. I usually get it with the AK-101.

This seems to be a rather recent development (1-2 months) where it seems that every other reload resets itself and reloads again.

This is a big deal, especially since it doubles your reload times at points where you least need it.

So many times that tank or apc has gotten away within an inch of it's life because my AT rocket reloads (I go to fire) then suddenly it goes through the reload animation again - making a 3 second reload now a wasted 6 seconds.

This has happened with other weapons as well - in the middle of a firefight and I'm needing a desparate reload and the same thing happens. It's maddening to say the least.

I've experimented with trying to trigger it again, but can't see what causes it. Someone said that switching to another weapon will cause it, and yeah that makes sense. But in my case, i'm not doing that. I'm on the same weapon when this happens.

That's actually really weird. In my playing for a year, that has never happened to me. lol

Lol 166 hours over the period of one year and you havent experienced it Maybe you should die less and break at least 1000 hours before commenting on a BF2 bug thats the same for all of us.

It is worst w/ the support weapons (which already have an annoyingly long reload time)

This has been happening since release.

I thought it was gone, perhaps its come back to visit.

Its staggering that after years of patches, EA/Dice still cant get this game right.

I get it when I accidently change weapons before the reload counter hits bout 80%, then you go back and have to start over. Darn it!

When you hit Reload on a near full gun, I switch to pistol and it stops the reload. But, at a certain point swtiching makes the ammo set, a split second later it will be reloaded quicker than ever. Kinda cool trick..

It's annoying when I am reloading and an enemy jumps out in front of me, so I jump n slip down a hill. Doing this will cause it to double reload.


I think in future, stop moving what so ever, and it will reload itself nicely for you. Frustrating vulnerable position you put your self in without ammo, and the same when you reloading as a sitting duck so your gun doesn't screw up.

Yesterday on Kark IO, 2 guys jumped out in front of me when I had 6 bullets, I burst fired one (out of ammo), jumped on him hit G and blew away the 2nd guy. I don't piss around with reloading if I don't have to, just not worth the risk at that point

lately when using the G3 when i run out of ammo, you can hear the sound effects of the reload but it is not shown, it reloads fine and takes the same amount of time but just no animation of it happening

This is the most common way of dying for me as infantry, especially medic. And it is a big deal, but doesn't happen with ultra-low pings.

I didnt read all responses so sorry if I repeat...but I believe if you try to fire before your completly reloaded...you start the process all over again

It will happen when you reload and then jump off something and hit the ground and it will reload again because you cant reload in midair

What I'm experiencing has nothing to do with interruptions. I could be prone, fire any weapon, reload, then it reloads again. There is no weapon switching, no jumping, no scoping, etc. It's completely random.
