    Effective snipers...

Lots of threads going around about "snipers" everyone considers snipers as the ones that sit back on a hill shooting and will land a hit 1 in 4 shots (resulting in a kill once every 8 shots.) These are the ***** snipers or retards who believe that they are the **** and helping their team, but as we know they aren't. However there are snipers that are very front line actioned who will take the rifle over a PKM. One sniper, who many of you know that is quite offensive as a sniper is Spetz, who is a mod on the forums, anywho.

        Re: Effective snipers...

I think all this **** about snipers being asshats is nonsense.

There are snipers who are total biatches, TKing for jets with M95, laying prone on one spot all the time, etc. And yeah, mostly noobs go with the sniper kit once they begin with BF2.

But there are still people who are good with the sniper. Good reflexes, can take HS from a long distance etc. Don't judge every sniper out there just because a sniper pwnt you on a server, why not try the kit yourself?

The sniper kit has always, and will always, be considered as a kit the devs HAVE to add in all BF games, and there are numerous reasons!

But I myself hate the claymore spammage. They should be used tactically and not in any way to pad stats! IMO a sniper shuldn't be able to supply himself of claymores, as it was in one recent patch.

Eh, snipers don't bother me ('cept claymores but that's a given). Why should snipers get up close and personal when they're wielding a sodding long range weapon?

            ^ exactly.

and sniping in bf2 is hard compared to cs and most other games with sniper rifles because u have to take in account of bullet drop and bullet time travel, and the only thing that makes one a better sniper is by practice, which takes a long time. It took me a good 30 hrs b4 i could be good at hitting moving targets, and im sure b4 those 30 hrs, i was a pretty bad sniper

The only reason sniping is hard in BF2 is because the ****ing sights are broken, the hit detection is ****, and lag.

Snipers are stupid they are easy to kill even in close combat just jump around them they can only use their pistol.

And a pistol against my M16 / AK-47 / AK-101 will not do much, lol.

My first concern in this game would be hit detection how much have I seen the dust fly off heads. Whilst I had to shot the air behind the target to get a successful hit.

Snipers are easy kills. And their claymores are mostly annoying. Especially when they are just blocking a flag and you can clearly see them.

But then I'm talking about the average snipers..
Some snipers still they are easy to kill in close combat mainly because of their range of weapons etc. But are good in it. Actually saw a few of those.. But not many.

They're not stupid, they can only work with what they're given. Of course you're going to blow them away 9/10 times when you get behind them with an AK-101, they're not usually aware of your presence because they're busy sniping.

Honestly, some of you are talking as if snipers are some kind of different species.

Just checked Wookie clans website and forums. Not all snipers suck. What those guys do is unbelievably amazing. If they released a "pwnage" video, it would be of high class entertainment.

They have an older video that is still up in Google > The WOoKie Clan Sniper video. Most of them were also part of the DMZ Sniper Community.

Well i dont think that snipers should take part in CQC.
They are given their unique longshot rifle to use it.

I think that BF should be so reality-related as possible and in the real world people dont run around throwing clays all over the plays.

why should anyone pick the sniper-kit if they dont wanna use it the way it is in the real world?!

                          - To pad their stats simply.

Well i am not much of a sniper myself (only 20h time) cause i cant snipe. i admit im bad at sniping, but just because i dont know how to snipe it doesnt mean that i should run around in the alleys of karkand throwing away clays like my own cra* in the toilet. (and thats alot)

                          EDIT*

                          Sniping is so EASY!!!

I am wasted talent lol. Dont know why i couldnt snipe before, but now i can.

The hard thing about sniping is to hide. I assume that is why the half of the snipers is clay-spamming?!

                            Re: Effective snipers...

its easier to get kills as an attacking sniper because the zoom level on the gun is ****e, the closer you are the more likely you are to drop them with a headshot.

yea snipers are meant to hide in a bush along way away but, they cant because of the above poor zoom level and the way you cant easily get a headshot. you normally get a hit in the chest and the enemy runs off and gets healed. frustrating.

I was just thinking that perhaps i should put a lil add here about us, but no need to anymore :) These posts about snipers being ranted, are pretty funny.

Sure, everyone hates claymores because they kill you instantly even tho the player who planted it might be allready on the other side of the map. But the fact is, it's war. In war, your goal is to kill the enemy and win the war. You can't go to pakistan and tell them that they should only throw rocks.

I mainly use clays to protect flags. Since i'm on the move so much, they're not much of a use for personal protection. Basic idea being: Take one shot, if you miss, tough luck, NOW GET UR *** MOVING! Because 9/10 times when you fire the rifle in maps that has FOW under 300m, it's pretty sure that the enemy also heard the shot and will be looking for you. Sure in maps like Wake, Kubra and so forth, you can sit still for 20 minutes killing ppl and none notices anything. But that's not much of a contribution to the team.

Those who keeps saying that "i really rarely get killed by a sniper" blah blah. This of it this way... you have no idea how many times you'r *** has been SAVED because he keeps taking enemies outta the way behind you, or ahead of you while you advance. It's a thankless job really. I mean, if I take a half squad out your way while you're running like a madman to the flag, you and your squad mate are left with 2-3 guys, easy picking rite? If i wouldnt take em down, you'd just run straight to their lap and get sprayd with bullets. And if squad realizes they're being shot by a sniper, they really go confused. This confusion gives huge andvantage for YOU to go in there. While they're lookin at the roofs, jumping around and acting like idiots anyway, you just walk in and take em out.
