with 1.5GB ram probably everything highest, unless you have a 7300 gfx card or something.

    What are your specs?

Nice try. System ram and video ram DO NOT get added together.

BTW you don't say what card it is that has the 512 mb of ram on it. If it is anything less than a 7800/7900/8800 or 1800/1900 series of card, forget about it as the card more than likely won't be powerful enough to take advantage of the extra ram (something like a 7300GS with 512 mb on it).

Here is what I'm trying to do. I have 2 computers, The newer one i don't have to worry about because i can run it on high GFX.

Well, My older computer only has AGP, Not PCI-E and Im trying to make it run nicely on BF2. So i passed by a store this week and found these two AGP cards and wanted to know how well they can run on a 1GB of RAM?
Here are some cards i found at the store new me.

Well the 1600 should be able to manage highest graphics if you had 1.5-2GB of ram. Still, as Stormy{CAN} said, it won't be able to utilise 512MB, you may as well get the 256MB version.

With only 1GB of ram you would have to have a few settings (like texture) on medium.

Marketing gimmick. Neither of those cards are fast enough/capable of using the ram on them, and not worth the extra $$ over the same card with less ram on it.

x1300 is completely awful. x1600 is less awful than x1300, but still less than good.

low budget and agp? ebay might be your best bet:

i've got this card (added an aftermarket cooler) and it is very good for BF2. it is on par with the 6800gt, below a 7600gt. bonus: it tivo's!

yes, you do take some risks buying on ebay.

both of those are great cards; got the feeling OP wants to keep it under $100 though.
