Whats the best Sniper Rifle out there?

I LOVE the L96A1, But mabey im wasting my time?
To get you guys see more info about these Rifles, I placed the info and image.

It depends on which map. On all 16-player maps with helos I'd use the M95.
On the rest (especially big maps) my favorite is L96A1.
On some occasions on Karkand I go SVD/M24.
I have used Type 88 and found that it is quite good aswell, with less recoil than the SVD. But chinese maps are often bigger than MEC ones.

The only rifle I dont use is the type 88. Mix n match the others, SVD on warlord. L96A1 on Karkand, M24 for Wake, and the M95 for all the other maps.

Is there really any difference between them? I know people go on about attributes and what not, but the weapons are so nurfed and unrealistic, is there a noticeable difference in performance?

I have only used the SVD, M24 and the M95, the M95 being the one I use least, due to the annoying thickness of the crosshair. Id probably have them in that order of preference too.

well on most vannila maps i use the L96 but on SF it depends on wether or not theres choppers if there is i'll use the M95 if not then M24, and if i cant get the M24 then its the M95

i dont like hte semi-auto sniper rifles

on short to medium ranges i favor the m24 or SVD. I pick up the svd when ever i can. It's amazing piece of weaponry in the right hands. In maps such as Wake or other maps that has long FOV.

In the BF2S Wiki weapons:sniper-rifles you can find a picture of the M95 for your Thread start.

If you are playing as a sniper moving up with a squad and supporting them with assaults (Designated Marksman or DM) you are better of with more bullets and the ability to stay zoomed in that the Semi-Automatics have. So that would mean choosing the SVD or Type88. The USMC doesnt have that option so you would be better of with the G3 Unlock the Assault Kit has.

If long range sniping and scouting is your game (Scout/Sniper)you are better of with the more powerfull zoom the Bolt-Actions have (Bolts have Zoom x5 , the Semi's have Zoom 3.3).
The damage dealt with the Bolts is also higher if you make a body shot. So in case the target has allready sustained damage it would be an instant kill.

The added advantage of the M95 is that it allways does 95 damage with a body shot even if the target is wearing body armour (the M24/L96 get a reduction). The disadvantage is offcourse the crosshair on the M95 which doesnt really allow for precision sniping over long (300 - 450 meters) or extreme long range (450 - 600+) for the average sniper.

The only sniper gun i use is the SVD , i have taken out whole squads with it before .

agreed the l96a1 accuracy is VERYHIGH same as m24.

in bf2 i always use l96a1,now and then m95,

in SF i always use m24 or svd.

M95 is my general rile at less then 250 meters. Outside of that I use the L96A1, I rarely ue te basic rifles..... I jus like the power of M95 and accuray of L96A1.

Long range = L96
Medium = M24 / SVD / Type 88
CQC = SVD/Type 88
Maps with loadsa vehicles = M95 i.e.e Wake, Zatar Wetlands, etc. It's priceless to read what they say when they see "Your Name[M95] Heliwhore1995".

Hit a guy in a J-10 once with the M95. BOOM, headshot. His plane flies perfectly straight after his death, and since he was camping the carrier it drifted onto the carrier. Someone on our team took off with it!!

svd......sometimes if you're lucky, you can get 4 headshots in the time it takes for a L96 to load another bullet
