Is it normal to have a Claymore blow you up at 10 feet away?
It happens to me all the time.

Great little boxes aren't they. Best thing to do is squad up with a medic or vice versa and let the non medic player go first in any gaymore infested area.

If you do not look at them, they will not blow up. Now there are some claymores that move... One time a claymore hopped out of an alley and blew me up. I swear to god that claymores have ginormous IQ's (well compared to the snipers that plant them every 2 feet).

Ye stay away from IO serves that is were all claymores and nades go not saying it is not on any other server than IO just not as much on vehical maps.
