Close, the GPU will be the first to feel the pinch.

I just ordered a 7600GT, hopefully it handles BF2 alright.

Quite possibly, all high at 1024x768 for sure, but anything higher, might have to sacrifice some FPS loss

I don't know anything about notebook processors, does 1.66 GHz mean it's good? I know that my desktop dell here is 3.00 GHz but not sure how that compares with notebooks. Also what does 'discrete' mean next to the graphics cards spec? make sure it's not some sort of stripped down version of a geforce. Personally I'd never spend money on a notebook to play games but maybe you have other reasons for getting it. I don't know if that system will run bf2 smoothly with all specs maxed out but you could go pretty high.

Mhz and Ghz dont mean anything now, the core two's are great CPU's.

Its printed on the box that "some laptop versions of listed (supported) cards may not work".

I will never understand why people buy laptops for gaming, when they are horrible gaming platforms. $2000 says it will overheat like ****.

Yeh it will easily handle it. My laptop that i use to play BF2 is a 2ghz Centrino, 2g ram, 100g HD, Geforce 6800 and play it on medium and low.

The 256mb discrete means that it is not 128mb dedicated and 128mb shared it just means it has 256mb dedicated to running the card which is a good thing as it doesn't slow down your system:)

I bought a laptop for work and use it for gaming. Would be a bit difficult carting a desktop all around the country:)

                really? my 2ghz centrino with a 7800gtx runs bf2 @1600x1200 all high, no aa/shadows at 90fps.

what is the differance between the GT cards and the GO cards, since this one is a geforce GO 7600?

Go means mobile. Shrunken to fit a laptop.

Yes it will but the loading times will be slow because its a SATA hard drive
