    Disc is gone

Well, for anyone that has a 2 year old child...you can feel my pain. Thinking that BF2 somehow resembled Elmo, my BF2 disk has gone "away". Short of buying a new copy is there any legit way of playing the game? Im sure that **** patches are frowned upon and will probably result in some PB issue.

I know that MS will replace broken/lost disks if they validate that you had actually purchased it but Im not sure EA has the same policy.

    Any advice?

No CD patches are legit you can use them off of Gamecopyworld.com or make your own. If you want to buy it again buy it online of amazon, bestbuy, or something like that

Or you can have someone from the fourms send you a mini-image of their CD.

I have tried to use the 1.4 no CD EXE (from camecopyworld) for my updated version og BF2 but i keep getting a Punkbuster error message "RESTRICTION Memory/File Error 81159" then i get kicked.. I reverted to the original exe ( i kept a backup)and its ok, but i was hoping to play without using the CD all the time.. Would "creating an image" work for me? How do i make an image of my CD ?Thanks..

a mini-image is just what it says a smaller version of the cd/dvd that enables you to run the game and can improve the performance if you have a slow cd/dvd reader.

            Cd Mini Image
the DVD Mini image is below the cd one, you wont need anti-blaxx (even though they state it)

to get Daemon tools > http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon

            5.0 Running the images
With DAEMON Tools installed on your machine Running or ‘Mounting’ the image take a matter of seconds.

            1. If you haven’t already, make sure DAEMON tools if running. You will no this when there is an icon in your taskbar that is red and when hovering above it says DAEMON tools.
            2. Right Click on this and go into Virtual CD/DVD Drive emulation. Then go down to set the number of drives. If you plan on doing this one more than one CD change it so it fits your needs.
            3. Now in Virtual CD/DVD Drive emulation go to your Drive (Mine was called Drive G) and go to ‘Mount-Image’ Navigate to were you saved your mini-images and then double click on the one that shows up. There should only be one of your 2 files being shown (the one with a suffix of .mds)

Once it is mounted correctly a pop-up should appear with the contents of Disk-One. You are now done!

for starters dont listen to people who say use ***** Patches as they alter your exe file and you get PB kicks. they may think ***** patches are the same as a mini-image but their is alot of difference, perhaps they should read up on it before giving the advise...

Follow the bit above and you should be fine, ive been using a mini-image since the game was released and not had a single problem

Give your kid to Jack Bauer for 5 minutes and he'll spill the beans on where the disc is and even finger Elmo for a hit.

That's interesting. The booster pack is going for $19. If I got the booster pack (I have the same problem, same CAUSE, too), the game would no longer ask me for my (missing) disc one?
