    Epic defenses...

    I just had a round where my clan led a balls out defense of the Refinery on Dragon Valley, brilliant fun and frankly quite tiring. At the very start the squad leader got in a jet and bailed at the flag, then we all spawned on his position once he'd touched ground. From there on in it was just relentless action, them coming straight in with armour, flanking with infantry, bailing out of a high altitude chopper, throwing everything at us and we stood our ground. Came away with a silver at the end of it, noob tubing all and bastard sundry. Very satisfying

    So I thought I'd ask, which is your favourite flag to defend with a squad all working together and communicating?

      Any of the coastal flags on Oman, or the epic bridge battle at Karkand. Speaking of defences, I wish engineers could lay down minefields. If you have ever played Planetside, you know what I mean. You could lay down 20 mines, 10 turrets, and other neat stuff like that.

          Hotel, Karkand... LOL

          Has to be Construction Site on Oman, we grab it as USMC and then enemy throws everything theive got on us, Su-34 circling, bombing every 10-15 seconds, Mi-28 coming in and circling hot, enemy armor and infantry rolling in.

          Its a nightmare and offers you minimal chances of survival (got my purple star way back like this), but ultimately, very epic. Very "The Last Stand"-esque battle.

          There are a few other true meatgrinders.

              By the bridge fight, I meant after USMC takes the western half of the city and is trying to cross the 2 bridges into the east. It is ripe for snipers and support, and serves as one of the few strategic, tactical battles where the whole team, regardless of personality towards playing, comes together as a team.

                  On a 32 player size of Karkand, defending the bridge as the USMC if we snuck behind and took it.

                      My most epic defense was a one man defense as AT at Suburb (karkand). We had two flags: Factory and Suburb, and my whole team was at Factory. 8 or 9 infantry came to Suburb and I ate them alive with the DAO-12. Then my Eryx of doom chewed up a M1A2 tank and one of those Lav-25 APCs. The best spot for epic defenses is on Great Wall (Euro Forces) defending the Quan Fortress. Laying down mines and sniping with the MP7 is very SWEEEET!

                          Being chinese on Wake in J-10 defending Airfield as our last base ( my team sucked ). Killed attack chopper, blackhawk with 4 people, 2 tanks and about 5 people before they could take our flag.

                              Defense, mostly is a lonely business. Most players dont want to defend or even know how to attempt it. I once defended the rail yard flag at Karkand, by myself. I got about 18 kills in about 2 minutes useing a machine gun mounted on a Humvee. I got killed right as the rest of my team showed up to finish the job.

                              What I do best, when playing defense, is hanging back and spotting everything that moves. That way my team mates can see all that I see on thier mini map. Most people dont know that spotting helps keep your team members alive and can make a so so team have a chance at winning a game or two. You should spot then shoot when ever possible, even if its gonna be an easy kill. Also you should always spot enemy air craft, that way your teams pilots might live longer or come and kill them. Anyway, this is a good Idea for a thread isnt it? . . . . . . . . .Red

                                  Admirable stuff that. The DAO-12 is utterly awesome when wielded properly.
