Strange Menu Bug

Hi all

Recently dusted off my BF2 box, re-installed and patched...

Getting a strange bug, where the mouse in all the menu screens (prior to starting / joining a game) "Lags" for 5 - 120 seconds - That is, it will take about 20 seconds for a mouse "click" to register on buttons, such as the "login" or "multiplayer" buttons.

Any idea what this might be?

Video Card: 6800 LE
RAM: 1Gb
CPU: P4 2.8GHz
Win XP SP2

Also getting CTDs when joining full or near-full games, or when round changes whil i'm loading (Which takes forever :s)

Is your HDD stuck in PIO mode? Go to Device Manager, under "IDE/ATAPI Controllers" go to the Primary IDE Channel(s) properties and hit the Advanced tab. Does it say PIO Mode in any greyed out box?

Also, run a defrag on the hard drive and make sure your video and audio drivers are updated. I don't care if you updated them two weeks ago, do it again .
