Best Gun...

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums, aswell as BF2. I got BF2 for christmas, and I started out as a sniper and usually play in infantry only Karkland servers. But I'm not good at the whole...staying far away part. I hate being waaay at the edge of the map or waiting aroud forever just to get that perfect shot. But I freakin' love the rifles! Haha. So far I've unlocked the G3 and the PKM (Not sure if tht's what it's called, the fancy sniper rifle is what I'm attempting to refer to). So anyways, I usually end up having my face molested by someone running around the corner I'm hiding behind with an automatic weapon, and every now and then I'll kill them first....but not often. What's a good automatic(or burst) gun, that has decent zoom and accuracy. Someone has suggested the Medic's unlock....I think it's like L85...something or other. Or do you have any other suggestions for me? I haven't tried all the classes yet.

Kinda off topic, but wth is up with that Secrect Agent-James Bond-Roll to the prone position? Is there a way to do that, or is that just what the other player sees when you go to prone running sideways?

Other tips for a Newb would be nice too.

The assault unlock (G36) or support unlock(?) are my fav automatics. The support unlock is almost worthless if your not prone, though.

The rollie thing is just how you see the other player.

PKM would be Light Machine Gun :) The sniper unlock you're trying to refer to is l96 i think since m95 isn't really too much of a fancy looking :P :)

Not my personal preference when it comes to medic weapons, but yes, l85 would be nice choice. Especially when thinking about the fact that new BF2 players usually has the tendency to like weapons with scope. :) You'll get over it. (thought i do hope you stay with the sniper kit, no matter what the others say)

That's just what you see. You've propably done it quite few times by now yourself. :)

Err no, fires .50 cals which would make it a heavy machine gun.

You'll want to get yourself the G36C Spec-Ops unlock, nice burst accuracy and pretty efficient to spray and pray with.

eh? PKM is 7.62×54 caliber -> LMG.

Best gun imo is the G36C - the Spec Ops first unlock, it is sniper-accurate on single shot, and has a pretty high rate of fire on auto; whilst still being accurate to a degree.

I love playing spec ops class so that gun takes the award imo

I find the FN-Scar is a really good auto long range in karkand.

G36E. It's the daddy of all Assault Rifle unlocks IMO. But you'll need to get Special Forces for that. Th L85A1 is also a deadly weapon in the right hands, especially on single shot.

My favorite auto/burst guns per kit (that has that as an option):
Spec Ops: G36C (overall favorite)
Assault: F2000, M16
Medic: AK101, G36E
AT: P90

My tip, stay away from 24/7 Karkand IO servers.

Do you have special forces? If not, then half of the guns being mentioned here can only be unlocked with that.

If you only have plain BF2, then the spec ops unlock is the way to go.

i think you got your wires crossed,, you mean the Medic Kit

im in a phase now where im only using stock weapons apart from Sniping :p , most of the guns ill use as single shot if possible if not then short bursts

I said Assault Rifles mate. The medic guns are Assault Rifles. The G3 is another assault rifle, but only for the Assault kit as you know.

I mentioned the medic Assault Rifles as I think the medic class is the best way to get to grips with basic ground pounding.
