    S.T.A.L.K.E.R... March 2007.

According to the recently released video on Gamespot.com.

    http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/stalker/media.html

We'll see, really i've gotten quiet anticipated for this game recenlty.

Wich is good, because if this is true i didn't have to wait as long as the others.

Man, I was so excited about this game, and suddenly lost all interest, they went through a lot to make it so lets hope its a nice finished and refined product, and not a farked up halfassed game.

I don't think it should be any more demanding as BF2. :)

The end is near, the long period of waiting is nearly over. It were many days, 1822 to be precise, which were altogether marked by both joy and anger.
Despite having resulted in many disbelievers to date, there is no reason for doubts anymore. Today, THQ announced the exact release-date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. It shall be the 16th March 2007, a friday to be exact.

You can rely on the fact that the release date will be the 16th of March, indeed. As THQ Executive Producer Dean Sharpe, who is currently involved in the production at GSC Game World's in Kiev, already said, there will be no further delays.
For those who still believe in a residual risk: Anton Bolshakov, project-leader of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., will hand over his car to the community in that case.

Newest (leaked?) Gameplay footage: http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=30325 Weapons look so kick ***. To bad that footage is mainly from what it seems to be some underground tunnles.. :|:

Had a pleasure of seeing a few videos of Stalker. So far the locations are awesome. There was a website of Chernobyel, where a couple of people drove through it on motorbikes. It was amazing. The whole areas is a big ghost country, with the city being chillingly empty, and preserved with its 1986 state, even with the old parade flags and stuff stored for the celebrations that never took place. The game also takes place in the countryside, and the sounds are simply magnificent.

I didnt quite like the weapons, as it seems as if they were way too weak, so it can break the immersion and impression, but seeing as the game is one massive piece, in its locations and action, this may serve a specific purpose.

Im looking forward to it, mainly its Single Player component. The story looks to be awesome, and the enemies fairly intimidating.

Yeah these developers really look like they took their time on the enviroments, i guess this is also the newest video from online gameplay - http://rapidshare.com/files/9384321/...eiler.wmv.html the maps look so sweet. It just looks like they took their time with everything instead of making a bunch of generic buildings and cramming them togethor randomly (See: New Cod2 maps, New BF2 maps.)

                  Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R... March 2007.

I had grandparents and my whole family in Ukraine, and I frequently visited the country up until I got 7, when USSR went down. Its a very peculiar country, its landscape, villages and large fields. Where I live now, we have hills and deep forrests, however in Ukraine, you see fields reaching tens and sometimes even hundreds of kilometres, with very little forrest left in only some places. But as an ex Soviet agricultural country, there are tons of collective households, which are basically big collective farms with building complexes, in every village network.

The villages are basically farms built next to each other, by the road, and they reach as one row for 3-7 miles.

Now, from what I remember the development took place in Ukraine? Which means that they will go for the authentic feel, both visually and in audio department. So I expect a lot of very, very solid sounds of nature, which will create a huge immersion level.

Expect some devastated, depressing and cold, sad, dark feel of the environment, as they seem to be going for that authentic atmosphere in abandoned factory, farming and industrial complexes.

                  Man, Im excited LOL.

No problems. Heres the site I was talking about. Its really worth to look at, for the pictures.

I live in Estonia, and although its a small country (~45K square kilometres) the countryside is littered with abandoned military bases, old agricultural facilities and factories. Just being in one, abandoned fo 15 years, is extremely depressing, which put in game should make for an interesting sight.

This game is gonna be awesome. I cant wait to play it and im hoping my clan will play eventually. the multiplayer sounds great, thought I hear the graphics engine is a bit dated.

Holy sh!t. Would you look at that... they actually went for the "as real as possible" authentic look.

                              Wow.

About the engine, it is a little dated. As the videos show no remarkable physics effects. But game still looks awesome.
