BF2 Soundhardware Issues - Help Appreciated

    Hi All,

Finally got BF2 up and running today after building my new system

    E6300 C2D
    2GB Geil Ram
    7950GT 512MB
    SB Audigy

When i try to change the soundhardware to my SB Audigy it cmes up saying that my sound hardware is incompatible and i cannot use it, whats could this problem be.

Also how come there is no 1280X1024 resolution option in the game? it is what i always use but i cannot select it for some reason.

All your help would be much appreciated, thankyou!
sorry if these seem n00by questions.

Go to http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ and get the most recent drivers for your soundcard. This should fix that up.

There are ways to manually set your resolution. Many threads on them. One I found is at

    one thread suggested this
    Fix - From http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78473
Well I saw a lot of people asking and this will just end all the question topics. Its very simple however most people don't know how to do it. The only downside to this is it will cut off a little bit off the top and bottom. However its so little you can't even tell and doesn't remove any of your GUI.
So this is what you need to do:
Right click on your Battlefield 2 icon on the desktop, click on properties on the part where it says target, add +szx 1920 +szy 1200 (Or whatever your resolution is). So it looks like this ...
    "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200
NOTE: Some may also need to do this however only do this if the first fails. In most cases this can be ignored but I have seen some that need this.
    Navigate to: "My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\Video.con"
Find line: VideoSettings.setResolution 1600x1200@75Hz (Or whatever your resolution is at)
You can either change this line to something like 800x600@60Hz, or just stick "rem " in front of the whole mess so that it is ignored by BF2. (You'll be overriding it with shortcut parameters anyway)
refer to http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showt...ght=resolution and scroll down to the first time you find the word resolution

what model audigy do you have? audigy LS (5.1) is unsupported.

      also, from the demo file:

      http://www.gamespot.com/pages/gamesp...&mode=official

      - AUDIGY CMSS 3D
If your Audigy card supports CMSS 3D it should be disabled when
using the Software Audio Renderer option in the Audio menu.
Otherwise you may experience poor quality sound.
It should be enabled when using either the Hardware Audio Renderer,
or the Hardware Audio Renderer with EAX Enabled, in the Audio menu.
CMSS 3D can be enabled and disabled using the "EAX Console" that
      came with your sound card.

Download the 1.41 patch, it adds 1280x1024 support and of course you need it to play online.
